Tune decision
Good question, Greg.
I just loaded my Bamachips 93 Torque tune this morning and ran it back to back with my DTP 93 tune on my SCT2. Both tunes are matched to my JLT (1st generation) and 4.10 gears. The DTP tune was tweaked a bit during dyno tuning with the addition of 2 degree of global timing and a little fuel taken out in the upper revs.
The only difference I can readily feel is that the Bama tune is a bit more responsive at throttle tip in. As a test I held 2nd gear @ 3000 rpms and then hammered it. Both tunes broke the tires loose about the same over the exact same stretch of road, minutes apart. My butt-o-meter says the power is about the same with both, with a slight advantage in throttle response going to the BamaChips tune.
When I spoke to Doug about which tune would be better for me - my car is not driven daily, but not raced either - he steered me towards the torque tune. I'm not at all dissappointed, but I'm not blown away either as my car was already pulling pretty well with the previous tune. I've only driven it for 15 minutes with the Bama tune installed and like many of us, I realize may expect more than is possible from just a change of tune. I also have to remind myself that every car responds differently to changes.
Give doug a call, he's a really nice guy and he'll be happy to fill you in on the details.

Greg... IMO there wasn't a major difference between the Perf and Torq tunes. I tried both at the track (1/8-mi), and couldn't see a consistent measurable difference. But, I preferred the Torq tune mainly because the car felt stronger on the launch, and seemed "peppier" on the street. Get them both, and do some experimenting on your own. Either way, I think you'll like them.
Ive ran both at the track and got the same times, and from what doug mentioned to me in an email this seems to fit, he said the torque tune is meant to give you a little more torque at a lower rpm, but when wide open throttle its still about the same, again im paraphrasing from an email almost a year ago now, LOL
I use the torque tune myself since most of the riding around town im doing isnt with my foot to the floor.
