trans upgrade

Contemplating switching to a 6 speed in my saleen. Tired of the notchy 3650 feel. Any ideas appreciated and am I biting off more than I can chew. Secondly, how bad can I expent the cost to be. I anticipate being able to sell my setup, which will help financially.

If you think the 5-speed is notchy don't get the 6060.

The shifter on the 6060 is not NEARLY as smooth nor is the transmission.

I've been trying to sell my 5-speed for a couple months now... economy sucks.

But if you know someone looking for the 3650 let me know

Cost-wise it depends on how you want to do it... if you go with a brand new transmission then there are kits you can buy that include all the parts you'll need for around 4k.

You'll need to add a clutch/flywheel that will cost you another 1k or more.

So 5k in parts and then labor.

If you go with a used transmission you can do it for less, you just have to piece all the parts together yourself.

I got a used trans on Ebay and then bought a used GT500 driveshaft for 150 and used crossmember for 150 bought my shifter, boot, and clutch/flywheel new.

It's not a cheap upgrade AT ALL. And if you're doing it because you think the 3650 is notchy then absolutely do not do it.
