Traction Control Button

Traction Control Button
Is the traction control button a momentary contact? The Haynes repair manual show it as a SIG wire. I suppose that means signal. If so I'll install a circuit that waits until start +10 or 15 seconds then pulses the signal wire for a second and goes away. This would be a simple auto Off mod and leave TC operable.
The tuners can turn off TC but then you can't turn it back on and you get errors in the info display.
I was under full boost the other day when TC decided to pull the fuel.... Bad bad bad.... I know, I know, I freaking forgot
I'd rather look out the window "Oh its raining turn the TC On" But then again if it's raining I wouldn't be under full boost......
Or better yet can you program the GT 500 TC program into a GT?

Ditto on letting us know ... I getting pretty good at remembering to turn it off every time I start the car , but it would be nice for an automatic feature like this ...

I don't think it pulls fuel, I think it pulls the throttle back a little. In that case, it would not be causing the car to run lean. I don't have any facts to support this, just a gut feeling from hitting the TC a lot.

Think I'm going to pull the center trim panel on the kids stang today and play with the switch.

I don't know if it pulls timing or not , but I do remember reading that it uses the anti-lock braking system for at least part of the traction control ...

Well back to the mod..

Pin 3 - Yellow - Wake on start +12v
Pin 7 - White/Pink - TCS Computer signal wire (Change to next step)
Ordered a Timer:

Has more features than I need but for 20 bucks, what the heck....
We'll see what happens...

I didn't know it pulled fuel either. I had mine turned off after the s/c origionally went in, but after switching intake i had it turned back on. Well i can tell you that it definitly applies the brakes. If you decide to roast the tires, dont forget to turn off the tc. Rear brakes come on and the stock clutch doesn't like beeing the middle man between the rear brakes and a sc'd engine ...........Clutch was chattering bad for a few days but seems to have smoothed out...for now..........cant wait to get the tc turned off again!

Are there any circuits that are live only with engine on? The only one I could find is the brake pedal feedback position switch.... weird...
The car I'm putting the mod in is my wife's car OZMA.... ( Princess of OZ )

There was a thread where they showed two of the fuses in the engine compartment. One of them was live when the key was on and the other one only when the engine was on. I think I have the picture from the thread at home , I'll take a look ...
