I am going racing on june 26, for sure and maybe sooner at the local 1/8 mile track. I am hoping to improve my 60' time by 3 or 4 tenths. I also added LCA relocation brackets a week ago to eliminate the squating and crappy launches. So between the two I should get the 3 tenths I am looking for on the 60'. My overall ET and should drop by as much as 4 or 5 tenths (I hope).
EDIT:
The other big improvement was installing an aftermarket Tach that I can actually see. The stock tach is in such a crappy location I could never see the tach while staging. https://themustangsource.com/showthread.php?t=483043

Hey David. Are you running stock LCA's or aftermarket? I am in the market for a set!
I have BMR adjustable upper and lower control arms, with the spherical joint on one end. I also have BMR adjustable panhard bar and BMR roll bars. My relocation brackets are from UPR, bolted for now but sooon to be welded. (I am practicing my MIG welding first... LOL)
Lol, i think ur right. The 20's really did make a difference in traction. I even had a stickier tire than I do now. No issues with tranny heat. I havent got a chance to rail it lately tho. Im gonna get that gauge setup but after I do the gears. Cant have too many presents arriving at once. lol
The burn out my friend shot for me...
(don't expect a lot....LOL)
EDIT: The first video I call the "Barrett Jackson" Walk Around minus commentary...

I shot two quick vids in my driveway this afternoon with my MT Drag Radials. The camera leaves a lot to be desired (in the market for a new one) so the vids are a bit grainy if you go full screen.

Hey David,
Get that puppy out in the sticks and hammer on it.
Just teasin. Looked easy for you to light them up! I am interested to see how the PI TC helps you at the track.
See if it comes close to the advertised improvement.

I am currently in the low 13's, (13:181) and I hope to get into the upper 12's next time out. I also installed LCA relocation brackets to eliminate the squat which is partly the cause of my crappy 60' times which are close to 2 sec, when I should be hitting around 1.7 someplace. So hopefully the combination of the converter and the brackets will get me into the 12's.
TCI has such a bad reputation in the Mustang world.
The big price jump you noted from the 3000 to 3500 rpm converter is simply due to one being non-locking vs the other being a lock up converter. Gotta get the lock up for 3 important reasons: 1) better fuel economy at cruising/highway speeds, 2) less heat to cook your trans fluid, and 3) stronger pull at the dragstrip for higher trap speeds.

I guess i have the non-locking one? How bad is that?
Wish i had this info before hand but I DID get it only for $310 including shipping...

I am pretty sure most street & strip TCs are the locking type. I know that mine is the locking type anyway. I thnk that the TCIs are locking too unless you specify otherwise. (not sure)
Scott is correct and I actually have called TCI and verified that the 3000 stall TC is a lock-up converter. I also asked them why the crazy price diff between 3000 and 3500 and they said its due to the difference in the stator and turbine setup.
Well then, they've changed it. Three years ago when I was in the market to buy a converter, the TCI 3000 rpm was a non lockup style converter according to their website then, so I passed on it. I would have bought their 3500 rpm model to get the lockup model, but the price was crazy ($900 +). Found my Fuddle Racing 3600 rpm lockup converter for $460 and jumped on it for that price! Three years later, it's still working awesome (and flashes to 4800 rpm's with the extra power of the supercharger). I just assumed TCI's 3000 rpm converter was still a non-lockup like they used to be.
