Top speed with governor removed via tuner?
#22
I've personally never been on a good enough road to push mine much into the triple digit range. But since this post was originally about tire ratings it should be said. Speed ratings are for sustained speeds. So a 168+ mph tire could actually run at that speed continually with brief spurts well above that.

Well done!!! LOL!! Took that baby to 168MPH!! Nice job! Please be carefull.. Seriously, you have made your point, and it is much appreciated.. But on the serious side, be carefull man..
Also, is your car completely stock?

According to my metric converter 240km/hr = 149.13 mph. Real fast but not 168.

I took mine above where the speedo registered and then the governor cut it out. I think it was going a few mph over what the speedo said, probably 148.
And my girlfriend never woke up, LOL.

2005 GT Mustang @ 175MPH in 4th gear= 7731 RPM
2006 GT Mustang @ 180MPH in 4th gear= 7952 RPM
2005 GT Mustang @ 175MPH in 5th gear= 5257 RPM
2006 GT Mustang @ 180MPH in 5th gear= 5407 RPM
So basically, its a pipe dream to run a 2005 or 6 Mustang GT @ 175MPH or 180MPH..
What the heck are you talking about here????
There is no difference in power between an 05 and 06.
Not to mention all the Ford GT quotes.
I'd check your source.... :notnice:

All of you thinking that taller gears means higher top end. You must be thinking about running in a vacuum. 155 is about the max un-governed stock top end because of drag. Look at the difference in torque/hp at given rpms. Unless a couple of you want to disprove the below theory by testing out your stangs (1 w/ 3:27's and 1 w/ 4:10's). I'll stick w/ the math.

Where can I get an Instrument Cluster that has KPH's as the main speed?
Right now I have MPH with KPH in small letters.
