Tires, Rims, and Such (oh my!)

Ok, I know, it's been answered somewhere... but dang if I can't figure out the right search terms+I'm lazy and don't want to read 100s of topics.

So...

Currently Awesome has 17x8 stock anthracite Bullitts. Not that I mind that, although if they were black, I probably wouldn't do anything in the first place. But they're not black. So it gets me thinking about black rims to try.

And I can't get these out of my head:
http://www.elites-wholesale.com/Shop...42233250235248

Well, actually, I'd rather the 17s, but they don't come in anything but 0 or -5 offset. Won't work.

These are 18x9, 4.5" bolt circle, 35mm offest rims. Going to various tire and wheel calculators say the same thing: With the right tires, there shouldn't be any issues with changing from the current stock 17" wheels & tires. I'm sure I'm being lied to, though....

Now, my questions are these:

1) The width is 9". Near as I can tell, without doing too much to the car, the tire sizes I can go with are the 245/45-18s and the 255/45-18s. The prices aren't much different, about $10 more for the 255s, same brands. From the current 235/55-17s, it's about 10-20 more.

The 245s, while not quite flush, will 'pooch' out about .3" from the rim vs the .5" for the 255s. Is it enough to worry about? I've been looking at pictures, and the 245s look ok to me... but it's hard to really tell. Thoughts?

2) ONLY this particular rim has a hub size of 72.62mm. All the others are 83.82mm. What gives, and what is the hub size needed for a 2006 Ford Mustang GT anyway? Evidence for the 'only status:

3) Having struggles with this one too: What's the stock sizes for the 18s on the 2005-2008 Mustangs? I want to say there are a couple different ones, depending on GT, GT/CS, Bullitt, Cobra, etc.

---

I'm guessing the hub thing is what's finally gonna drive a stake into the heart of my desires for these rims. Maybe they'll make them in 17x8, 40 offset, right hub size, whatever that is, and torment me further. But at least I can get what I'd rather in the first place.

Oh, and also, I understand that these are meant for RWD trucks, which may explain the offsets being near 0 in all of them. I don't care what they're for, though, I think they're perfectly designed... just badly executed for sizes.

Thanks in advance, and again, sorry if I'm asking something that was posted before... but I'm pretty sure it's unique with the hub thing.

I really don't want to be one of those bumpers who bump too early and obnoxiously... but... really? Nobody? For almost an entire day/night cycle? Wow... I've stumped the experts, have I? Hehe.

Did I put it in the wrong forum maybe? Or did I not ask the right way?

Here, maybe... Pretty please with these on top?:

255's will be just fine on a 9" wheel. I used to have 255's on 18x8 and 285 's on 18x9.5.

I believe 235 is stock for tire size.
