Tire Spin

I lowered my 05 GT with Eibach springs and kept my factory shocks and struts. The problem now is the car will not transfer the weight when I shift from 1st to 2nd The tires go up in smoke. My Question is would Different Rear shocks let the rear squat and hook up better? Thanks Driver

If you lowered your car and that's all you've done, then the geometry in the rearend is now different. You need to adjust the pinion angle of the rearend. You want to get back to your "instant center." BMR fabrication makes a relocation bracket that you can install that will cure most of that. It relocates your lower control arms. Once those are installed, you pinion angle shouldn't be too far off. You need an adjustable upper third link to adjust your pinion angle. You should be able to get close to the correct pinion angle with the relocation brackets, but not exact!

hmmmm

I have (setup in sig) and with the t/c off, shifting to second gear... I get maybe a second or so of spin and it hooks back up again... on stock 17x8's.

Your spinning 18's....

I have nothing more than whats in my sig...

My shocks/struts are set on 2 turns out on all 4 corners.

You can do what 169stang said which should help some and you might also get some adjustable shocks and stiffen up the rear two setting wise. That will help plant the rear end a little more...

Thanks, I have the lower relocation Brackets from BMR.I could tell little Differance. I did not trim the bump-stops and there is little clearance there. That may be some of my problem I will check my pinion angle. How much pitch should there be? Thanks. Driver

-3 degrees of pinion angle. The big wheels don't help any either. Is your car manual or automatic?

If you granny shift, the rear suspension will unload (raise up). To really keep it planted, you have to powershift the crap out of it. This, in combination with your suspension, will cause your tires to break loose in 2nd.
