Tire Recommendation

Tire Recommendation
Hi TMS,
So I've noticed that traction from a dig is **** near impossible
with my CAI and tune. And I'm guessing it's time for some new tires.
What would you guys recommend?
Currently I have the stock 17" BFG's.
I don't need snow traction at all, and rain is a maybe since I live in Southern California.
Thanks in advance.

But with TCS and OD off my mustang just sits there for at least 2 seconds.
Is it possible for me to have 17"s with BFGs? Because according to tire rack 17"s came with Pirellis.

Interesting...experiences any wheelhop? I have been reading around the forums that LCA's and Relocation Bracket may help a little bit traction-wise. Thats all the help I can give you as I don't know much about tires.

How much do LCA's and Relocation Brackets go for?

Lca's can run you from around 130 up to 300 bucks, I know that BMR relocation brackets with be around 130, also. I just picked up so relo's for 70 shipped from the for-sale section.

Check into the LCA's from J&M if you are worried about wheel hop. www.hotpart.com pretty cheap and good quality from what I have heard.

The factory 17's were Pirelli PZero Nero M+S, while the factory 18's were BFG KDWS. This has been true for all 2005-2008's. Maybe the dealer you bought your car from did a wheel and/or tire swap prior to you finding/buying your car?

As you have very little inclement weather to worry about and you appear to value traction very dearly, I would suggest buying a drag radial. The Nitto drag radials last quite a while for street duty and offer decent traction, and the BFG drag radials offer better traction than the Nitto's, while returning decent life on the street. I ran a pair of 275/40/17 BFG d/r's on my '03 Mach 1 for nearly 10K miles before needing to replace them. That mileage included two summers of daily driving and two summers worth of drag racing at the local dragstrip.

And I'll look into the drag radials. What's the widest tire i can put on my stock 18"s?
