MAC headers + prochambers from Brenspeed
MAC headers + prochambers from Brenspeed
I'm thinking about getting the MAC headers and prochambers from Brenspeed in their package. Has anyone gotten them, if so how do you like them? What kind of number improvement can i expect, if any?
Mac headers are mid-length. I am considering the same setup and have been searching for sound clips with GTA mufflers... no luck so far. I really like the clean deep sound that the prochamber gives, I just wonder what the headers affect will be on overall sound.
Either way, everyone I have talked to has had positive reviews on this setup. I will most likely pull the trigger in January myself.

I haven't seen any Mac header on the market that is mid-length. I've seen ceramic coated shortys and ceramic coated long tubes produced by them.
Personally, the Mac's are the best bang for the buck (besides OBX). You can find a brand new set for about 430-460 (just the long tubes). If you go to www.brenspeed.com they have both shorty and long tubes.
Correct...
Mac calls them Longtubes, and in a sense the pipes are indeed LONGER then shorties but they are not equal to that of ARH, Kooks, BBK, etc...Which is why I consider them more of a midlength header.

i like that mac package brenspeed sells. but isn't 1 3/4 tubing best for blower applications and 1 5/8 for na? if that is the case, i would imagine you would lose some potential power due to the decreased backpressure, right? idk.
i was going to ask brent that question, but never got around to it. didn't want to bug him since i wasnt ready to buy yet.

Does any one know if that Brenspeed package has a good set of locking nuts for the headers and a good pan or something like that. My mechanic who works on my car said that he knows headers come loose a few weeks later and I want to avoid this and I don't remember what the other thing was he said to make sure of (the pan???). I tried to contact Brenspeed but they didn't answer. Anyone?

I know the answer to this. They do not come with a kit. I am ready to install my OBX headers this weekend and I bought these. They are Stage 8 locking header bolts. Once they are torqued they cannot come loose. They aren't cheap but will offer peace of mind.

Yes mine got here this past Wed. Larry (Aircare84) is coming to help me with my install today. I am impressed with the quality of these OBX headers. I will start a new thread on the OBX headers and how my install went. I have already taken some pictures to help provide a little more info on them.
