+1..

I have Nitto Invo's. They allegedly don't grip as well as NT05's, but they're extremely quiet.

NT05 for all out performance, Invo's for slightly less performance + quiet.

It's been 2 months and I'm still not really sure where the limit of traction is on these tires, because it's generally way faster than I'm comfortable going (turning @ 75mph+ on off-ramps that I could only go 50mph on with the stock tires.. who knows what the value of that "+" is.. I'm too scared to find out.)

Do they mention or have a "european profile"? sounds snooty, but that rounded edge is alot more forgiving when you reach the edge of adhesion. The tires howl like crazy versus something sqaured off. A sqaured off tire (like alot of track tires and much older high perfomrance radials) dont really give an indication where the limit is. One minute your flying around a corner, the next minute the car just slides out from under you. I think another term for "european profile" is "progressivity".

They don't make alot of noise at what I think is the limit (ALOT less than the pirelli's), but I get some light squeal when I'm at the limit on real tight turns. I'm not sure, but I feel like I'm actually 4-wheel drifting, sliding sideways towards the outside of the curve without over/under steering, when I'm at the limit. Or what I think the limit is. Whenever I feel that I get scurred and ease off, so who knows.

With the stock pirelli's, I had no problem going past the limit on empty roads, because it was never going very fast.. with these, I'm terrified of the limit.

The're pretty square compared to the stock tires. Not sure about the european profile term.. maybe you can take a look?

Yeah, they have the euro profile (it was a term coined by Michelin IIRC), like I said, your not going to find a whole lot of tires that aren't that way. I though maybe the BFG R1 might have a nice squared off edge, but even it has a sort of rounded edge (less so that a regular street tire I think).

Sad they left out the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric from their testing. I would have like to see how they measured up against the others.

The F1 Supercars are on closeout on tire rack right now, plus a 80 rebate. I got a 160 rebate tho and much less than the price at racks retail site
at 128 per tire, plus 80 rebate, thats 108 per tire, and a steal!

Loved my last set, and they are OE on the GT500. Just that Goodyear quit making them now, grr.

If you want the best in my opinion the F1 GS D3's wet/dry by far the best tire I have ever driven on. but at 329 per tire, whew, 309 after rebate. I got mine for 210 a tire few years back, and 100 rebate

+1 on the eagle supercar tire. Expect to raise your RPM significantly if you want to teak em' a bit and leave some of that rubber stuck to the road. These tires stick and get you moving!

Oh ya, for sure.
Taking the fronts to work to have them swapped tomorrow. So now I jacked up my car, and installed my drag radials on the front, LOL I'm glad its 8 blocks of residential streets to work tomorrow. I shouldn't see anyone on the roads. No one to say, wtf is that idiot thinking? He drives a Honda?
