Question Thoughts on SLP LT's and catted x pipe

Ok,

I have posted below, but need an additional post to clear up a new question,,,,,please bear with me.

I have found SLP LT headers and catted x pipe for 1029.00 at LM performance. This is 400 cheaper than both Kooks,JDM, SW and so forth.

Has anyone had any issues with SLP's???

I cannot beat the price and the quality seems to be there. They are

Features:
  • Provides dyno-proven increases of up to 30 rear-wheel hp when paired with one of our matching "shorty"-style PowerFlo-X Crossover Pipes and Race Pipes
  • Hand-crafted in the U.S.A. from mandrel-bent 304 stainless steel
  • Aluminum-ceramic-coated to keep heat in, exhaust velocities up, and under-hood temperatures down
  • Equipped with venturi-type velocity collectors to maximize exhaust scavenging
  • Compatible with all factory emissions equipment
  • Includes detailed instructions and all necessary installation hardware-no additional fabrication required!
  • Fits 2005 Mustang GT models
I have to get their shorty x pipe and cats.

I am having a tough time convincing myself to not get them. I have looked at JBA and they also run right at 1500.00 bucks.

Your thoughts really needed on this one.

Hey Traffic-

I'm looking at the same combo. Checkout corral.net under the 2005 forum- there are some people that have the combo installed and are very happy.

Thanks Tom,

The price at RPM is really close (30 dollars cheaper) but I have heard of a lot of horror stories of RPM Outlet. I think I will go with LM Performance.

Are you going to mod your tunes? I emailed brenspeed, if you got your tunes from them, they will mod them if you get the Kooks from them.

I am getting doug at Bama to mod my tunes for the LT's

I am going to keep mine catted and as street legal as I can. I may go and get my car inspected before I do the headers, just in case.

I don't think the rpmoutlet price includes shipping either......the LM price does. That's a good deal!!

As far as tunes go, I'm due for an updated dyno session with Brent. His shop is only an hour away and I had to cancel a previous appointment, so I may just wait and do the headers then do the dyno tune after that.

Good luck!

You are lucky that they can tune for you and they are so close. Let me know the dyno results. I had mine dyno'd after the 4.10's, not really happy, I had the lower HP motor out of the box. My dyno was 291. But that was not using Bama's tune. I had an older bama tune and would not accept the 4.10's, so they loaded my DTP tune and tweeked it. Not really happy, when I broke the buck on the way home, I had some detonation at WOT. Bama helped me out with a new updated tune for the 4.10's and is helping me out with the new tune for the LT's (Doug is a great guy and really takes care of his customers). I am hoping to break 305 RWHP with the LT's and tune.

Good luck

Has anyone actually seen the 30 HP or TQ increase at any point on either curve? Not doubting, just wondering if that is really possible.
