The latest posts about the Ford Racing headers (reasonably priced!) got me thinking about getting a set and they seem to be the last bolt-on for power we've been waiting for. Thinking about all of the available bolt-ons, is it possible to hit 350rwhp?? And I mean with only true bolt-ons. Not ported heads or any other major engine work. And no nitrous, turbos or superchargers!

Here's the breakdown of what seems to be available and some estimated gains:

Reflash and air intake: 20-30rwhp
Pulleys: 5rwhp
Charge motion plates: 10rwhp
Headers: 10-15rwhp
x-pipe or prochamber with high flow cats and catback: 15-20rwhp

Assuming 270rwhp stock, all of these could add up to 345rwhp!

Now, some mods are not necessarily additive in gains, yet others are (or even synergistic). With a killer 93 octane tune, is 350rwhp possible??? Throw some 4.10's or 4.30's in, and this becomes one sick NA car! :worship:

Once I get my headers and full exhaust in, I'll see where I'm at then with a custom tune. If I don't hit 315, I may start tinkering around with other CAI. I may go with the JLT which is supposed to give a bit more and is roughly $150. We'll see, time will tell.

Sounds good, but. . . there are more bolt ons that have yet to come out. Such as a throttle body like the aftermarket ones for the 03-04 cobras, and the afterm, arket was just starting to make new intake manifolds for the current (up tp 04) cars so I am shure that a new intake manifold and throttle body combo would net even more power. Thoese would do great with a new cam (do you consider it bolt on?). Anyways a new throttle body and a new intake manifold would probably new like 20 more hp or so and even more with a power adder and a cam. So I see it being very possible to be getting 400 hp with nothing more then bolt ons and a cam, even more with ported heads. This may be my new plan 400hp no power adder nessacary going no deeper then cams and heads.

Ill be happy with 300rwhp with a CAI, Tune, X-pipe and Catback. I hope that's possible because thats really as far as I want to go on this car, at least until I get another car to use as a daily driver.
