Switching From C&L Intake To A Steeda

Switching From C&L Intake To A Steeda

I'm thinking of switching from a C&L intake to a Steeda, mainly because the C&L heat shield is a bit cheesy. Whereas the Steeda unit looks quite solid. They seem to be similar performance wise, I just want a better look under the hood. My question to you is this, if I do make the switch, will I have to reflash the computer or can I keep the C&L tune installed if the mass air meters are the same diameter? A silly question to some but I ask because I just don't know.

You will need a new tune. I would not make that change based on heat shield or looks.

yea the C&L box is cheezy, but dont get rid of the intake cause of the box. maybe you can get someone to fabricate you one, or perhaps buy a box from another aftermarket vendor like JLT or something.....

Contact Lee at C&L. I believe they have upgraded heat shields that can be purchased separately.

I agree. You already have the best CAI out there. Either call Lee and see if he has an upgrade or fabricate up what you think looks better. Either way it is just for looks. No performance gain.

Go with the Steeda CAI and the C&L intake tube. You won't be sorry.

Steeda has their own inlet elbow now - seems to work fine.
