those of you with a paxton,vortec,procharger or any other gear type charger how noisey are they comparted the the kenny bell,whipple,salean, and so on.the full throttle howl is fine but what about noise at cruising speed?also,about what rpm do they start to make good boost on a 8 lb kit?

 

Come on, nobody . I am thinking about ordering a vortech and I am curious too.

 

I have a Vortech V2 SQ and it does whine at idle, just enough to let everyone around know there is something under the hood, At full throttle you can't really hear it (except the sound when the bypass closes during gear shifts).

I also have a Harley F 150 that has the same engine as the Lightning and the Eaton blower makes NO noise until you accelerate hard, then she whines like a Banshee!!

 

I have a buddy with a paxton on his Vette and it sounds like it's juggling marbles inside at idle- smooths out when he steps on it, though.

 

I drove in a HO Vortech'd stang a week ago as a demo because I'm getting a Paxton installed now. You pretty much don't hear anything in the cabin, it's a little whinier at idle and at small throttle openings at high rpm. But it's not very noticable. I'm hoping that it'll make a small chirp at high rpm when I close the throttle during shifts. Can anyone tell me if there's much of a chirp?
