Thanks James. Yeah, I noticed your car in the pics, and I figured you got there later in the day. Maybe I'll see you at the next CRMC meeting in March.

Yeah, and you all know you are on borrowed time...will anyone warranty your engine?

I don't expect anyone to warrant my engine. Do you honestly think Ford will warrant YOUR engine being that it has an AFTERMARKET tune? I sure hope not.
Until I can be proven wrong I will stick to my opinion, especially since I am an owner of a blown car and have had ZERO issues.

I second that ......... I was doing a lot of research and looking around and the Saleen was IMHO my best option ...... no regrets whatsoever

just curious, I just watched a video of some car magazine doing a shootout between the Saleen S281 or whatever it was, and a Roush 427R. The Saleen has better hp numbers, but the Roush was quicker in the quarter mile, 0-60, stopping, actual track performance, the only thing the Saleen was better in, was the slalom, and that was very slightly. The Saleen cost 10k more.

Is it the wheels on the Saleen, 20 inch, that slows it down? The 427 says 435 hp, Roush advertises their SC as producing 145 hp alone, before the off road exhaust, shouldn't a new 427 have 445 + exhaust adding something?

Aftermarket exhaust doesn't do much on these cars. the stock exhaust breathes so well that a full exhaust change nets little gains.

spend the 6k on a turbo. more efficent and unless your foot is heavy you wont be pushing the boost into the cylinders, keeping the mtor safer. but thats my opnion.

20's will slow a car down. Also The Roush with Roushs tune has most of it's power down low with boost coming on around 3K. Since it's a Roots style blower it doesn't do a great job on keeping that boost even up through the RPM's where as the Saleen is a twin screw which does a better job at keeping the power even. Twinscrews do a more efficient job at pushing the air in.

The 427R's originally came out with the 115hp increase setup with the Roushcharger. Around May of last year Roush offered a new pulley upgrade and tune to boost it to a 145 HP increase. That upgrade kit is now the standard setup coming with the new Roushchargers.

exactly my thoughts....ask Tom281, he USED to run it, but switched over to a Saleen, which now makes big numbers. I have also been very interested in this kit.

Awesome!! I do plan on suspension upgrades in the fairly close future. Here is a question that is sort of off topic, but how badly does being a convertable hurt performance, compared to the coupe? Is is simply weight issues, or is there other issues like weight distribution, flexing, etc?

Do you mean the Paxton 2200 HO kit? They dont have a 500hp Voretch kit listed. Its $1000 less for different boost characteristics. I myself am being set-up with a HO Vortech package from a local shop. Where do you want your boost will help decide which too choose. And money of course.

There may be people that have run it but 500hp with a non intercooled kit does not sound right to me...
