I'm going to get a supercharger in the very near future. I have about 6 grand saved up for it. It's probably going to be a roush supercharger. I wanted to go with roush and take it to a roush dealer and have them install it. Now if they install it, do they honor the engine warranty if the supercharger blows the motor? What other components will I have to add so the car can handle the power?

it is covered under factory warranty.
Hotrod tv bolted one on in this mornings show. It showed gain of around 100 hp. My question is what the most hp one could get out of that same s/c by changing pullies and so fourth. +200 or +300 over stock??

I had one installed on my coupe at a Roush dealer. Roush will honor the warranty as long as a Roush dealer does the install and you keep the Roush tune. Current HP with Roush tune and new pulley is listed as 445 at crank.

IMO, if you get a Roush sc, you'll be wanting more hp after a few hundred miles! I have 585hp at the crank on 10 lbs. of boost with my Kenne Bell. I paid less than $6k for mine including shipping. That does not include the cost of install, gauges, or dual GT500 fuel pumps. Save a little more---it's worth the wait. Oh, and kiss your factory engine warranty goodbye!

I spoke with a shop called Power by Ford, they said that Roush is now in charge of covering the warranty, that's why they ask you to install it at one of the Ford Dealerships.

I was in a car accident a month ago, I had an 06 GT with a dealer installed Roush Supercharger (I have more than half of the components that I'll be selling for dirt cheap), and when I asked all the questions to have it installed in my 07 GT/CS, those are the answers I got from the Dealer and the performance shops around Orlando.

The only Roush dealer in my area won't install Roush superchargers. I'm now eyeing the Brenspeed Saleen stage 3 kit (500+ hp crank) and have it installed by a local speed shop, and of course kiss my drivetrain warranty good bye in the process!

You'll like the saleen a lot more. It's a far better s/c and can be upgraded to make a lot more power.

Why is it everyone always asks about whether they can put a supercharger on and still be under warranty?

If you want to go fast, you're going to void the warranty. You know why Ford makes the GT so sluggish out of the factory? Because if you can only get 13 s at the track you are not pushing the motor that hard, and it will last longer than 36 months, The fewer broken motors, the less Ford has to worry about warranty claims...that's why they used crap rods in these motors, it was the cheapest solution...and then dumbed down the engine so they wouldn't break.

Now, we come along and want to get another 100+ HP out of their "safe" motor but still have them cover it in case we send one of their deliberately chosen weak rods through the block. That seems kind of silly...

As you read through the forums you'll notice that everyone who likes to go fast does one of two things:
1. Keep the boost under 10 PSI, 450 RWHP, or conservative tune
2. Put in a built motor and go ***** to the wall

But adding a S/C is a risk, one we all have to accept.

I disagree with that statement..
There are plenty of stang owners out there running over 450rwhp with a stock bottom end. I am one of them.

me too! I never had a single ping on my car. I run 100 octane fuel to help ensure that I do not get pre-detonation.
I have not had a recent dyno but my car is 3950 pounds with me in it and has had a top trap speed of 120 MPH so that means to do that I am pushing excess of 500 RWHP according to calculations.

I'm really happy for you. REALLY happy but I would consider myself on borrowed time. The combination of 100 octane which most dont run and the tune you have are most likely all that is saving you from really getting blown.t

Brent White tuned my car. Car ran fine on the KB street tune and on the KB shoot-out tune though before I ever went to a dyno tune. Again even when I ran 93 octane before upping the boost I never experienced any pre-detonation. KB puts a decent tune out with their kit.

If your spending 6grand, I'd get a S/C with options for down the road use like KB or Whipple, Procharger, Vortec etc..

It's all about the tune and how hard and often you push the car.

If I were in your position, I'd spend that money on a another S/C.
