Summitracing Underdrive pulley Update......
First off I just want to ask you to keep your opinions of which brand is better. I am doing this as a test pilot, everybody has the Steeda UD, I just wanted to see if I could save a little $$ and still get a quality product.
I bought a set of Summitracing 25% underdrive pulley and water pump pulley set and paid $156 delivered. Part # SUM-C2509, they are SFI approved and spun test to 12,500 rpm, made of steel. The crank pulley does have a coating on it so you do not need to put WD-40 or anything like that on it to help prevent rusting, the water pump pulley is black powdercoated. My first impresion when I pulled them out of the box was top quality. The crank pulley does have the timing marks, but are not colored and as easy to see as are the Steeda's. The crank pulley weighs 7.849 lbs and the water pump pulley weighs 1.5941 lbs. The factory crank pulley weighs 9.2878 lbs and the factory H2O pulley weighs 1.697 lbs. So there is a 1.5413 lbs weight savings.
Installation was just as easy as Tacobill outlined for the Steeda UD (Great job Tacobill!) Everything went smooth and had no problems, car started on first crank and ran just as smooth as factory. Went for a drive and it seems to rev a little more free. 5-10 hp is not much so do not expect the car to drive like it is boosted. My mpg went from 22.5 to 23.4 in my 50 mile trip to work. That was the first time I calculated my mpg for highway and it was for 50 miles only, so I expect it to be better than that over a long trip. My city driving style seems to not favor gas mileage, but it looks like I went from about 19.3 to 19.7 it the city. This is coupled with a JLT and 93 race tune from Bamachips.
As of right now, I would highly recommend the Summitracing Underdrive pulleys, they are SFI approved, exellent quality (40 year reputation that Summit wants to keep), come with all required parts (new Ford crank bolt, installation bolt, and the bolt you need to replace on the alternator so the H2O pulley will not rub), and is $50 less than just about all other new pulley sets for the S197.
Remember everybody this is my opinion, and my experience. I just want to get good information out so people have the opportunity to buy quality and save $$$$$.
I am at work right now, so I will post pictures when I get home in the morrning.

So far they are performing like they should, no problems what so ever. Have about 1000 miles on them.

And an update.....I have not driven a standard since 2002, so my times are a little slow due to the crappy driver mod I have....But Bone stock I got a best of 14.2 at 102mph. And today I went to the track and with the JLT/Bamachip 93 race tune and the Summit UDP I ran a 13.6 at 107 and the second run was a 13.4 at 105. The third run I ran a 14.9 at 72 (If you like times like this then I suggest a 2nd to 5th shift is the way to do it). So for less than $700 I shaved .8 off my time. And it will get better as I gain experience.
