Stupid panhard bar nut won't stay tight...

Stupid panhard bar... I can get under the car and tighten the passenger side nut of my stupid adjustable panhard bar until I literally get light headed I'm pushing so hard, and about 3 days later it backs off and I can hear the stupid panhard bar rattling around. I finally found my threadlock and put copious amounts of threadlock on the nut and tightened it as much as I could again. Is anyone else having this problem? I haven't heard anyone complain about it.

Is it just me? Am I the only one with a stupid panhard bar?

I know you have probably done this but for what it's worth. Re-torque and use blue locktite. It should be fine.

Spohn Adjustable Panhard Bar ?

Are you referring to the locknut on the rod end? Or on one of the mounts?

Yes, I did re-torque and use blue locktite. Just wondering if anyone had this issue.

I have the same issue. Mine is from BMR and it annoys the SHIZNIT out of me on the highway. Sounds like my muffler is loose or something

Can you put a jam nut on it if it's the one on the bar itself. If it is where it mounts to the car you might try to find a nyloc nut.

The suggested blue locktight (on the threads before your install the nut) should cure it, as long as you get the nut torqued to the specified torque, if not then you are just p...ing in the wind. This is a friction connection. The correct torque will provide the necessary preload to keep it from coming loose. Tightening until you get lighthead may not be as tight as you think ... use a torque wrench, don't fake it.

I have a BMR adjustable panhard bar and have not had your problem... If the blue loctite and torquing to 129 lb/ft doesn't work, then, I would look for a Nyloc locknut or even better an all steel locknut (the ones that have a slightly elliptical thread), it will never back off.

Just about every bolt in the rear suspension is Torque to Yield. They have a one time usage.

Here are the part numbers:

Item Part Number Description 1 W704886-S439 Panard rod bolt (RH) 2 W710022-S900 Panard rod flag nut (RH) 3 W704886-S439 Panard rod bolt (LH) 4 W710689-S900 Panard rod flag nut (LH) 5 4264 Panard rod 6 W520214-S400 Lateral stiffener bar nut 7 W710693-S439 Lateral stiffener bar flag bolt 8 W711331-S439 Lateral stiffener bar-to-body bolts (2 required) 9 3424 Lateral stiffener bar

Your local Ford Dealer (parts dept) should have them in stock.

This is correct I woudl start by replacing the bolt and nut and then torque to factory specs.
