Strut tower brace

Who sells a Strut tower brace that clears factory plenum cover and doesn't rub hood?

Check the V6 ones, the 4.0 sits higher. A single simple bar is more then enough. I'm sure someone's tried it. The 07 has a little more clearance already then the 05-06

BMR sells a strut tower brace that clears the plenum cover. I have one on my '07 GT that I bought from Ninosport. It clears the plenum cover and hood liner. I have noticed that the '07 hood liner is different from the '05-'06 hood liner, so I can't speak for that.

The BMR is the way to go, heres mine, as you can see clears cover nicely. Barely touches hood liner, you can see two small indents, but you can also tell the hood liner hangs about and inch or more low from the hood. If you dont want it to rub, undo hood liner, 3m adhesive it to the hood put back in pins, and no rub. Awesome Brace. You can add your own emblems etc, stickers are in box not attached. Good luck

+1 on the BMR brace. Works like a charm and is nice looking under the hood.

I used the granatelli STB. One trick is to mount the plenum cover underneath the screws in the rear. Normally the PC sits ontop of these screws, but, if you remove them, install the PC and then install the screws back over the PC, you will gain over a 1/4" of clearance.

This may not seem to be a lot but you'd be surprised how much that actually is when you are low on clearance.

Also, be careful with the STB from the 07 and higher cars. Ford modified the Strut tower on the 07s and the STB from these cars won't fit on 05-06 cars.

Why waste your time with an STB? It doesn't do anything anyway.

I speak from experience...

I read there was a change in motor mounts which caused the engine to sit higher. mitch e

Neither does the plenum cover.
