Wich stroker kit to choose? Is it worth when getting forged internals to buy the stroker version of it?

I want 600rwhp , its a dd and I track it atleast 3 times a year, what advantage do you get with it being a stroker apart from gettin a little more displacement?

I think 600 at the wheels is gonna be hard NA. But with a stroker you gain compression. Prepare for heads, a different block, and big ****ing cams if you want 600 at the wheels with out a blower or nitrous.

Actually Im using a Centri Supercharger, but the engine cant handle the 600rwhp when boosting so Im gona get it forged to be safer

Yea normally you lower compression with boost. Just talk to your engine builder. I'm sure you'll end up with a forged rotating assembly with different pistons for lower compression. That's if they want to run the stock block. Save your lunch money. I think the assembly alone is like $1500.

I would stay away from the stroker and just go with a forged bottom end. The centri would be great for tracking.

How do you feel about lowering compression? Allows for more boost right?

Well those are the ups and downs that Im trying to figure out, lower compression, more boost, stroker more tq so I dont know what to decide yet

Leave that to the experts. Less thinking for you and you're gonna pay for it either way. Give the guy a goal. He'll get you there.

I was running lower compression on mine with my turbos and hated it. All the experts kept saying I had to run lower for the boost, so I built the engine with about 8.6 ratio. Let me tell you if you daily drive you car, or even if it's just a toy like mine, go with stock compression. I am currently rebuilding mine and I'm going back to 9.8 compression ratio pistons.

These mod motors just love compression. With a forged bottom end and a good tune you can actually make more power with 9.8 then you will with the 8.5 that everyone recommends. If you have a race car and are throwing 30# of boost at it then yes the lower compression will make more power because the cylinder will have more AF from the boost then it would with higher compression and the same total cylinder pressure.

With pump gas you are limited to the amount of boost you can run and the higher compression will work better. It will also perform much better when not into boost with the higher compression. Don't fear compression on these motors.

Good to know. Thanks for the info Earl. I know the 03-04 cobras have 8.5:1 but not sure about the newer ones. But I suppose it makes sense.

The Terminators and the GT500 run the lower compression because they use a PD blower and can get away with the loss of power down low. They also want an idiot proof combination due to possible warranty problems.

We're talking about a built motor with a custom tune as opposed to a mass produced version.

I'm really looking forward to getting mine back on the road with the higher compression. When I was NA, on the stock motor, I could pull 1.7 60 foot times. With my lower compression turbo setup I can only pull 1.87 60's and run in the 10.90's at 130. I figure with the new motor I should be cutting 1.5-1.6 60's and turning 10.40's

IMO when forging stay with stock stroke and stock compression. Less boost mean lower IAT.
