Hi Guys,
I just installed my C & L intake and Predator tune ( 93 octane tune ) this weekend and am just tickled with the increase in power. However, I noticed something that scared the sh*% out of me this afternoon on the way home from work. I was exploring my new found power and went WOT thru 3 gears (automatic) and when I let off the pedal the dam thing kept going for a second. Enough so that I hit the brakes. Never noticed this trait in stock configuration. Tried it a few more times and I know it is impossible for the throttle to stick but it seems to not return like it did. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this and can it be adjusted out with the Predator??

I got the same kit. Is it possible it may have caught on the floor mat? Long shot but I've never had that problem. Yet.

I have used just about every performance tune and custom tune (and some not offered online) by DiabloSport for the 2005 and never experienced the throttle sticking.

Hi John,
That was my 1st thought. After it did it the first itme I reached down and pulled the floor mat back toward me. It did not do it as bad the next couple of times but it seemed more like the throttle just hung up at speed more than stuck. Can it be fixed with the Predator? I just want it to act like it has a cable attached. I thought about re-flashing the computer but I just did it yesterday morning.

We have been talking about throttle lag for some time now. I have the predator tune also and it will not shut down the instant you get off the pedal but it seems to be quicker than factory settings. You are right. It scares the tell out of me too!!!

Hi Bill,
I can't remember if you have an auto or manual. Maybe its more of a problem in the autos? P.S. Thanks for making feel like I am not going nuts!! But, it did not do this until I put in the Predator tune. YESTERDAY!

Mine stuck twice - and it was the floormats. Went back to stock floormats.

This would be a panic situation for sure. My first reaction would be to turn the key off. Not sure what this would do to the transmission but it would not matter.

Which mats caused the problem? I hope it's not the ones I just ordered!

Okay Guys,
I started this thread yesterday (24 hrs after installing C & L + Predator tune). I may have jump to conclusions thinking the throttle stuck or the tune was hanging up the throttle. After trying different things in the driveway and not at 80 MPH I believe it may have been my floormat that hung up the throttle yesterday as suggested. I have replaced the stock mats with a heavy aftermarket mat that has a lip around it to contain water ( snows a bunch here). It is entirely possible and probable that the bottom of the gas pedal got stuck under the edge of the mat for a second or two. If the mat is pushed forward it can and seems possilbe that is what happened. Since pulling the mat rearward I have not been able to recreate the same thing. ( Thank God ! ) Time to look for replacement mats again. Again I believe this is what happened to me. I put back the factory mats and will keep a close eye on the situation. BTW, does Ford have replacement leather seat replacements available yet. My rearend took a pretty big bite out of the drivers seat.

It was some crappy mats from Pep Boys that a kind-hearted relative bought for me...I kinda knew they weren't up to my standard, but used them anyway - and my throttle stuck twice with them!

Back to stock for now!
