Steeda Underdrive Pulley Installation
Steeda Underdrive Pulley Installation
First of all thanks to TacoBill for the installation pictures. Second, thanks to Autozone for the free rental of the Chrysler pulley puller. Third, thanks to the YMCA for my muscles to remove the crank bolt without an Impact Wrench.
Again, 2 hours to install, I found it easy. Common tools found in most garages: 8mm socket for the fan, radiator bottle, power steering fluid bolts, 10mm for the water pump bolts, 18mm for the crank bolt, 19mm for the Steeda bolt, torque wrench, etc. I found that 90 degrees past 37 ft. lbs. to be about 126 ft. lbs. of torque, I was using torque wrench to turn the last 90 when it clicked, I check, yep, about 90 degrees.
Steeda UD Pulleys were $187.95 shipped from www.americanmuscle.com . I used a new Ford bolt, $6. No questions, mistakes, or concerns. Pictures are moot, see tacobill. I hope to dyno the mods next week at www.Pro-dyno.net .

Good job Reverend!
Glad the install went well. Did you notice the engine rev's up a little quicker?

I finally did some testing tonight. It does seem to rev quicker, especially down low. I expect to dyno it as early as tomorrow. I said in another thread that I didn't notice much HP difference. I will have to correct that post. I do see a difference in the way the car drives. The delete plate / Under Drive Pulley combination wakes it up a little more. The 2k to 3k cruising acceleration has improved for sure. I thinking that the lower rpms where there would be more drag is where I feel it the most.
