You know I see more after market springs seem to have a little rake. I think the car must handle better with that little bit of rake to it than being leveled out????????????????

Thanks Bill.

I'd like to eliminate the rake completely. I don't think there is a kit on the market that completely levels the car out.

I like the fading rocker stripe! I've always liked the Steeda stripe. Where did you get it and does it come in other colors?

I have the sports, and while the ride is firm and nothing like stock i like it. The dspecs allow you to soften and firm but if you dont like a harder ride you probably should go for the ultralites. also my rake is completely gone and the car is level.

Kelly, I think there are spring kits to level the car out. ren274u mentioned the Sports and I think the BMR ones do too.

On the fading rockers, Steve (DarkFireGT) custom ordered these for me and others. See his post here and you can contact him directly.

Mine is totally level with the ultralites. There seems to be a wide range of what "stock" is. My car didn't drop very much in front when I put the ultralites on, but as it turns out, I guess it was lower than most in front to start with.

Doesn't the FRPP/Eibach springs level the car?

They are close but I've noticed the Shelby GT-H and GT's still have a little rake.

Here's my buddy Brian's (habu) GT, he's got the FRPP lowering springs installed.

I agree with this guy about the rake, and the car does feel like a completely different animal. Keep in mind that whether or not you'll like it is a matter of personal taste. I installed the Steeda Sport springs, D-specs, Steeda Heavy Duty strut mounts, and Steeda rear sway bar with billet endlinks. Even with these upgrades the car has a smoother ride than my '99 TA.

I happen to know a guy that has the Steeda Ultralites on his car and it does sit a bit higher than mine, but not by much.

That's pretty level!

And that spoiler delete looks great too.

Update on my install:

I installed the Steeda Sport springs, Steeda ProAction shocks, Steeda HD upper strut mounts, Steeda Panhard Bar and Brace, and G-track brace. I am very happy with my choices. Car rides essentially even now - 28 1/4" center of wheel well to ground in back and 28" front.

The HD strut mounts are a real treat and a quality product. No more strut mount chatter over small perterbations in the road, gives the car a solid quality feel. The ride with the sports is not harsh at all, not jumping around like the stock, just a very confidence inspiring solid feel and well controlled. It really soaks up the bumps on bad roads and keeps the car planted.

My next suspension mod will probably be front and rear sway bars, then possibly UCAs and LCAs/relocation brackets.

WHS,
How do you like the Steeda rear bar with billet endlinks? Any increase in jolt transmission or NVH?

Thanks for all the inputs.

Obviously, we're going to need pics of your setup.

I'd suggest the Steeda front and rear kit and skip the Steeda rear links for now, purely on cost alone. You can just about get the front and rear bars for the just a tad over the cost of just the rear links. The Steeda rear bar will fit into the stock links and the disassembly/reinstall is not so bad that it would be a pain to redo later on to add the Steeda links if you find you want them. Heck, I plan on removing my Steeda rear bar again just to paint it black to "hide" the mod.

The Steeda front bar is adjustable so you can fine tune your handling to the way you like it. So far I have left mine in the center hole and it handles the twisties nicely in dry weather (but the rear comes around like a bat-outa-"hello" in the wet if I'm not careful).

Hey Bill,

I was looking at this again and although it looks more level than the Ultralights, I think I'm getting fooled by the angle of the road. Doesn't everything, including the right side of the house look like it's slopping down to the right?

Kelly, I asked Brian to chime in here since it's his car. He may have addt'l pics from the side.

It's because the house is on a hill.

Yes the house is on an incline, the right side being the bottom of the incline and there is a hill in the yard that is skewing the perception.

This pic is a more level surface, but it isn't a straight on shot of the side.

Here are a couple more. Again not the direct side shots but you will get the idea.

Thanks guys. I knew that hill was throwing me off. It does look level with the FRPP springs. How does your ride quality compare with Bill's ultralight's?

Also your Stingers stick out as far as mine, it's funny how some of them stick out farther. They look good either way though!

Thanks for the compliments !!
Honestly I don't know how they compare. I only got one ride-along and it was more of a test for how much I liked or dis-liked the Off-Road H. I didn't pay enough attention to the ride.

The FRPP springs, for me, introduce a little too much for strut rebound. Not enough to worry me but enough that I've since bought FRPP struts. I would have eventually gotten struts no matter what springs I bought. I just happened to notice the rebound more with them. Having seen mine side-by-side with Bill's and Leo's I am glad I went with the FRPP route.

The stingers... I really need to align them. I could get them more like Bill's but have been really lazy. Still they don't look bad at all so I haven't bothered.
