I called Steeda to discuss a shifter purchase and I mentioned I was steering towards the PRO 5.0 shifter for the '06 Mustang and the man at Steeda let me know that Steeda's TriAx shifter was copied by them and that PRO 5.0 will not be allowed to sell that copied shifter soon. He said that Steeda was suing PRO 5.0 over the design. He expressed how upset he was that PRO 5.0 copied them.
Does anyone have the PRO 5.0 shifter for the S197 Mustang that knows the TriAx shifter well enough to comment?
Are there differencces?
I have read a post about the PRO 5.0 shifter from one man that has one, and he believed it was the superior shifter out there for the S197.

Not saying its not true but just because Steeda's CSR says so wouldn't carry any weight with me. Off topic but from my limited experience trying to get someone on the phone at Steeda as well as similar comments on TMS - they have great products and lousy customer service. BTW I am extremely pleased with my Tri-Ax

Oh yea, Id have issues with that. Steeda has probably the most involved product development progam in the aftermarket. I couldn't imagine too many things coming out better from somoene else. So one dude who bought the 5.0 thinks its better then a tri-ax? and that means what?

Here is the persons reply to a thread I started on another forum:
I gave a review of the shifter on another site. I will give you the brief version. It is hands down the best shifter for the new stangs. I have personal experience as I have had both the tri-ax and the hurst on my car and they are not even in the same league as the 5.0 - All the other shifters are modified version of the stock shifter and this thing is completely different size and construction wise. Here's a couple pics right before my install. You can get them from JPC for $299.95 + Shipping
No one else with first hand experience commented.

Has anyone noticed the roush front tower strut bar is the same as the billet steeda one?
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/serv...d=320273&CT=999
Their part is 364.99 vs steeda 319.95
I think there is a few other roush stuff that is from steeda (ie: panhard bar).

They want 297.00 for the same steeda part for 159.95
Why pay more for a roush name for the same part
