Since nobody else wants to touch this one...

I believe the Intake Manifold Runner Control Plates are a waste of money. Once you go wide open throttle you wouldnt notice any gains anyway.

Same comment I've heard about these.
Save your money for other mods.

I am going to have to add a different opinion to this thread. I believe that they are not a necessity but in the proper combination can prove to allow for higher horsepower numbers. On an otherwise stock engine there are not great benefits to them nor are there great low end losses as some people have guessed. Modular engine builders use them or build their own in some cases, why would someone do this if it were not for noticeable gains? Control plates can benefit an engine seeing high RPM's while N/A and also an engine with porting and valve work. They have also been proven to react well with engines running boost. Bottom line is if you plan on internal engine mods or installing a power adder they will help, if not then you can expect more gains per dollar with other mods.

What do you want for them? PM me if you are willing to turn loose of them cheap.

If you are building a high performance modular from scratch or tearing it down... sure, go ahead and pull the blades and weld the holes up.

From the view of somebody with a stock long block, there is almost no point to trade them out or modify them.

If you want to go big, port the heads, reweld the intake, install higher lift cams with more duration, blah blah blah, modify the blades cause then it will net you noticable performance.

Got this off the Steeda Web page

Let your pony breathe! The factory charge-motion control plates produce a restriction in the intake path - which these replacements from Steeda eliminate. Beautifully CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. If you are already on the bottle, we've got the holes drilled and tapped for you, ready for you to install your nozzles. Recalibration after installation is required

They are installed on my Q but I personally could not attest to their performance improvements as my car came with them. I do know that my car when it was on it’s press tour over 2005 it ran a 12.75 @ 107.83 with the Steeda tune and was naturally aspirated. And it's Dyno # are 335 horsepower @ 5500 and 345 lb-ft torque @ 4200 according to Steeda.

I have the steeda plates w/out the nitrous bosses, and plan to use them for my new motor. Im building a BB teksid block with stock stroke to make 5.0L (303cu).
In this type of application, the stock butterflies would be restrictive, and the steeda's will help/ Now I just need to figure out the fogger system
