Steeda High Flow Inlet Elbow?
Steeda High Flow Inlet Elbow?
Does anybody know if this works with other CAI's than Steeda or is it just for their intake? Saw it in a magazine and it said it gains 8hp. If it works with other CAI's I might get it. I have the JLT intake.

Since you already have a JLT there would be no point. The original Steeda CAI uses the smaller diameter stock Ford inlet tubing. The new Steeda elbow replaces that tubing. It is interesting to note that when I was shopping for CAI's 6 months ago I asked a Steeda tech whether there was any disadvantage to using the original tubing since almost all the other aftermarket CAI's use their own designs. He told me that Steeda had done extensive testing and found no horsepower loss associated with the standard tubing. Now they have jumped on the bandwagon and suddenly discovered 8 hp.

And your point is ? First off, Steeda designed the intake elbow exclusively for their CAI because customers requested it, and not because of jumping on some bandwagon..

the Steeda inlet can be purchased for $107 shipped, it may not be as nice as the C&L cast aluminum inlet but it's much less expensive..

Hi Jon ? did you know C&L upgraded their heat shield ?? from what I understand the new shield is supposed to be thicker and not nearly as flimsy as the old one..I don't know if it's on their website yet or not, but if you don't have the new shield ? you ought to give Lee at C&L a phone call and see if he can work something out with you..Anyway, good luck to you..
Apparently their customers knew something that Steeda didn't, namely that half a CAI isn't as good as a whole one. When they didn't have an inlet elbow to sell they claimed they did no good. Now that they offer one, freer flowing elbows apparently do work.

That's another reason why I like Steeda, it's because they listen and care about their customers needs and I can say with confidence that it really performs well and haven't run into any drivability problems, no check engine lights or anything, not that I'm trying to say the other's don't listen to their customers, I'm just pointing out my personal experiences with Steeda which have all been nothing but positive ones..
