It's done, I've cut my springs. 1 coil on the front and 2 in the rear.
Still handles better than any other Mustang I've ever driven...I can't imagine an aftermarket lowering spring handling any better.

Nick, I live in Chico and we have two Les Shcwab dealers in town. Both get high marks for customer service. I buy my tires from America's Tire Co. but they don't do anything else other than sell tires. Personally I think their quote is reasonable. The springs are a little overpriced but $30 per wheel for installation isn't bad imo. I always thought the price to do this would be between $450 and $500 anf they guarantee their work.

God I love Chico. I used to live in Yuba City and you can't beat Chico during Halloween or Rush week.

Thanks for the info on the springs. Good luck with that.

After doing a bit of research, I personally won't be attempting this myself. Decompressing, and recompressing the springs, even with a spring compressor is a very dangerous thing to do, and if the compressor, or your floor jack fails it can have pretty serious results. The load on these compressed springs is pretty large, and rapid decompression due to a failure in a piece of equipment can cause serious injury.
My buddy's dad used to build all kinds of old Stangs and Torinos... a Bobcat at one point.. Even with experience, it's a dangerous thing. He had a spring come out of a compressor and hit him right in the chest.... tossed his **** across the garage and broke some ribs. Caused some serious cussing, too. Just be careful.
When I respriung my '88 GT, I had Meineke do it... they gave me a descent quote... like $200 or so for the labor and alignment. I brought them the parts.

Good lord why would you buy a car and then have no idea how to work on it. Please just give me your keys and never buy anything but a toyota again. You guys act like this is rocket sience. Its putting springs in . Its not that hard. If it takes you over 2 hours you need to sell it. Because you should have never bought a car that will need an ocasional wrenching. Let me guess your also gonna have the shop put on the CIA, Air filter, and throttle body.

Your comments definately deserve a slap

Would you say that the 90% of computer owners should sell their computers because they have no idea on how to install, partition and format a hard drive?

I have done a lot of work to my car and some things I will not do myself because I don't feel comfortable doing it.

No who needs slapped are the ones that are afraid to get a little sweat bead going. Its very simple to get on the computer and ask for some help or a diagram on how to do something such as change the springs or the air filter. So far on this topic alone I have noticed that over half of you are afraid to turn a wrench. All that I am saying is to learn to do stuff yourself. Its not that hard and cost half as much.

Ever take into consideration that some things, for some of us, are fun to do, whereas others are a waste of our time? For example, I am looking at a set of long throw headers. Can I install them myself? Sure I can, but it is more worth my time to have them installed by someone else. Sure it will cost a lot, but for what I make on an hourly basis out weighs the cost of the installation, meaning, by the time the day is over I still have money in my pocket after a shop installed the headers. If I did it myself I would have no money in my pocket since I was not working. Sure, I would have the satisfaction of installing them myself but big deal. I would rather have the satisfaction of making a lot of money that day to help pay for more mods.

You know yes I do agree that there are some things that you may want to have someone do but not springs, throttle body, exhaust, air filter. Btw check out midlength headers that way you dont have to take them off to get to the tranny incase of clutch failure. Or atleast I know that was an issue people had with 99+ cars.
