I said the hell with it and took my pocketknife to the rubber tube and cut the darn thing out.

Keep wiggling it, it is in there but it will come out. Try a little silicone spray.

It was tough but I was able to get mine off by pulling hard and rotating the pipe in a circular motion. Good Luck!

He's talking about the removing the plastic reducer on the factory intake tube. It doesn't just pull out - it is in there pretty solid but will come out with a little work.

You mean that rubber reducer that's on the stock airbox facing the fenderwell ?? why would you want to remove it for ? that reducer is in there to prevent engine bay heat from getting inside the airbox, plus it works as an airduct to channel in cooler air from the fenderwell...If you remove it ? your only going to defeat the purpose of getting cooler air into your intake..

No, it connects the vacuum line to the stock intake tube. You need the reducer for the reconnection to the new inlet tube.

Sorry for the misunderstanding (brain fart) lol. Now I understand what you meant ? and yes that sucker is almost impossible to get off..what I had to do was ? un hook the metal clip which was also difficult then take a pair of channel locks but make sure not to over tighten over the mid section of the reducer while turning the channel locks back and forth and at the same time ? pulling the reducer until it finally comes out..It must have took nearly an hour before I was finally able to get it out..I just don't know why Steeda didn't include a reducer with the inlet elbow ? I really don't think a small plastic tube would have cost them but maybe a couple of bucks or so..Besides ? just about every other cold air intake includes them..

Yeah i finally got it off. That sucker was really driving me crazy! That took the longest of the whole thing. Took me a couple hours to get it off.

"Pull" -10 min

"Curse and walk off" - 30 min

"Pull some more" - 15 min

"Curse walk off and moan at stupid instructions" - 15 min

"Debate cutting the nozzle or applying a lubricant. Debating calling Steeda to change the pull gently comment. To pull the living crap out of it." - 10 min

"Pull much more agressive" - 15 min

*POP* came off and i'm a happy camper.

The good thing is that Ford had it in good and tight to avoid any vacuum leak.....
