Stall converter

I've got an 06 GT with an auto. I'm going to keep it N/A, at least for a little while and was thinking of going with a stall converter. What's the best brand(I'm thinking TCI?)? What is the best stall speed(3000?)? Also, how does it affect daily driving? TIA

Im going to say the "best" is Precision Industries Converters. If you want to stay NA ~3k stall would be best, some go higher in stall but its not intended for a daily driver and doesnt match other components well.

Ok thanks! How would a 3k stall affect my daily driving? I'm clueless here. I know it will help me launch harder at the track but what will it do on the street?

the stall speed is only noticable when you go part or wide open throttle, low speed take offs on the street are easy and do not flash to higher rpm. Bascially, if you want to launch hard all the time you will flash just short of 3000, if you want to drive like a sane person on the street then you wont notice it much at all.

when you step on the gas your car stock, accelerates or drifts forward on it's own.... now toss on the 3k rpm stall converter.. now your car to have the same affect will have to reach a higher rpm before it actually grabs... not to say that you wont drift forward a little but it's not going to be like stock...

until your used to it, you might not want to run up on someone at a light as you migh launch yourself into the back of them if you forget you have to kinda take it easy...

although it wont be that bad.

Oh I see. Thanks for the info guys. I probably rev to at least 3k every time I take off anyway. My wife doesn't like to go over 3k at all, lol.

When you say flash, do you mean with a tuner? So I'd need a tune for this as well?
