so what would happen if i ordered the frpp hot rod cams and had my dealer install them would it be covered?

 

I would suggest checking the FRPP warranty, and then also check with your dealer just to make sure for your own piece of mind.

 

The Shelby GT comes with a new vehicle warranty when you buy it off the lot because that's Ford's policy. Ford set's their policies, not me. If you think they're absurd, talk to them about it.

I don't know why you're arguing with me. All I did was quote the actually warranty you were talking about. If you have something in writing from Ford that reads differently, then post it.

 

Only a few items are covered under warranty. Most FRPP parts have NO warranty.

The warranty exist on new vehicle purchases 3/36. It basically a sales gimmick for new car sales. You purchase a 08 mustang and add a few packs(on the car deal) and its covered by the 3/36. Has to be on the deal.
Its like adding vent shades,running boards,etc. on a truck. As long as they were added to the invoice of the truck when you purchased the truck then they are covered by the 3/36 warranty.

Rear end gears are EXCLUDED because of proper installation by the tech. If the tech doesn't put the proper shims in then it wines like a b**ch.

A FRPP rep was a our dealership last week trying to help up selling the kits.
Supercharger kits are cover for 12/12 at any time of purchase with in the factory 3/36 and if any part fails due to the charger its covered.
Example: if you buy a charger and the dealership installs it with in the 3/36 it has a 12/12 warranty from the date of installation.
It very confusing. Bit like some others stated. You must check with your local Ford dealer.

 

I'm not trying to argue with you SStang, I just don't understand the difference between Ford honoring it's new vehicle warranty, if you purchase a Shelby GT that includes FRPP parts, or have a Ford dealer install the very same FRPP parts on an existing Mustang GT.

I mean what is so special about FRPP warranty policy that states, that an authorized Ford dealer must install the parts, in order to retain the factory warranty. In other words, what exactly is being covered if an authorized Ford dealer installs your FRPP parts ?

 

There's nothing special about. Other than thats the way they want it to be. The Shelby GT has the parts installed that are the only ones that are covered by the Ford factory 3/36 warranty with the exception of a s/c. Its only 12/12. I have a FRPP booklet at work and I will get more info later today.
But the important thing is like I stated before. most of the parts are covered only if the car is purchased brand new at a Ford dealership and with these parts installed at time of purchase by the dealer.

NOTHING is covered if they are installed on a 05-07(except for the parts already on the Shelby GT when brand new). With the exception of a s/c .12/12 is added on at time of installation not the end of the 3/36 to make the warranty 4/48. And if the car is still under the 3/36 factory warranty. Again ONLY NEW 2008-up has some parts covered. Its stupid but thats Ford for ya.

Here it is: Ford is trying to sell NEW cars. Thats why they are going to warranty some FRPP. Has nothing to do with previous owners.

 

Hey Mark, just want to say thanks for clearing everything up. I'm just glad that I no longer have to worry, because my 3 yr/36month warranty expired in February.

At any rate, it doesn't really matter if I use FRPP parts, or use any other aftermarket parts. So I might as well just purchase the parts, in which I really wanted to begin with anyhow
