Talking

Those with SLP Loudmouths or similar straight pipes - which X-pipe are you using? Who's got sound clips? Would prefer catted, since I need to stay street legal, but those with off road or w/ stock cats, your opinion is welcome, too.

Was leaning towards Pypes' street legal x-pipe - but I just emailed them and they said they have halted production on that version. Magnaflow's a bit pricey compared to others...I guess that leaves Bassani?

search here.... SurfnSoCal posted vids of the Bassani with and without cats.

Look at my thread for info on an off road setup.

Do a search on the word "trumpet"... you may want to hold off on a catless system and a straight pipe.

Searched and read all the x-pipe and h-pipe threads already before posting. Team Mustang Source members know the score! I'm trying to narrow it down to anyone who has SLP LM's and X pipe with cats - stock or hi-flo. Most clips/opinions are those w/o cats and w/chambered mufflers. SurfnSoCal has JBA shorty's in his vids, too.

I figure LM's won't be so raspy if I keep the stock cats and headers. But I have to be really sure I'll like it before I go cutting my stock exhaust up.

BTW - It wasn't until I started reading your other trumpeting threads that I was even interested in getting an X-pipe. Thanks a lot guys, I though I was done modding!

I guess I'm leaning towards bassani with stock cats - anyone else out there with that setup?

Bingo! My first encounter with the trumpeting was after my header install, when I added hi-flow cats and X-pipe with the LMs. Idle was great and WOT was just plain sick. But, it sounded nasty (and not in a good way) in the middle rpms at part throttle. So, I swapped an H for the X. No help. I put the Magnaflows on to calm it down. That is where I'm at today.

And you're right... LMs with the stock exhaust is awesome. I loved it!!
