Should I supercharge it or trade it in for a 2013?

This is the way I see it, which has no bearing on your decision but you asked so here it is...
If I were to buy a 2013 it would either be a Boss or a GT500.
The problem with either of those is the price tag is higher on both.
The reason is because I like the limited aspect of those vehicles. Meaning you won't see as many of those on the road as you will a GT.
I think Ford knocked it completely out of the park with the new body style by addressing the horrid rearend of the 2010-2012 cars.
And I love the look of the new GT's but there's quite a lot of them on the road and I like having something that's more unique.
So if it was ME... I'd either go for the Boss, GT500, or mod your car the way you want it and let your mind go wild... make the car exactly how you want it, and make it unique.

Keep yours, the new ones are fugly. The front end looks like a bear face and the tail looks like a 70's Toyota Celica. Antenna in the rear? That's not a Mustang.
In the future, the 05-09 will definitely still look way better. Like comparing a 1973 Mach 1 with a 1970 Mach 1. Put a new 302 in it -NA. If I had the option, I would go all old school with a 4 barrel and no computers.

Depending on how much sweat equity you have in your current set-up, trading it in as is will not be the most cost effective measure. Adding a TVS system, gauges, intercooler upgrade, professional tune and dyno to dial in the power, will be (from a financial point) the most efficient use of your funds. You will end up with a car that you have created, to your specs, with your own blood. sweat and busted knuckles (if you do your own installs).
Swapping into a newer model leaves you with car payments and a car that everyone one the road has... the mod bug will bite and the upgrades occur anyway!
If you are able to grab a BOSS, then go for it! Otherwise build what you want, enjoy the hell out of it, and if the itch still exists in 2 years, go for the 2015.
btw... I had the same urge last summer, almost pulled the trigger and swapped for a 2012 Boss (number 69, white w/black stripes and recaros...) but I added the M90, gauges, new interior and have no worries driving the hell out of it!

You said early on in your post that you LOVE YOUR CAR!!! Thats enough there to keep it!! My first love i ended up selling and still to this day regret it. Keep it, mod it, and ENJOY IT!!
I agree with him, I have a fully bolt on 2010gt with cams and at the point of trade in or blower, I'm going to go blower. Fig I Would keep the car I have spent the $ on and really only a blower left to do then suspension mods. Do what ya want but gunna regret getting rid
Of your car for sure
Of your car for sure
I vote for keeping the 4.6 and putting an S/C in it. IMO a more classic body style and you can keep modding to replace wear & tear parts like seats to keep it feeling new. I'm keeping mine as long as I can keep it running. The more you mod the more it feels like your own custom car, and that would suck to give it up and start over.

Thank you everyone for your posts. You guys gave me a lot of ideas I never even considered (especially the suggestion to buy a used GT500). The truth is I still haven't decided what I want to do. Some days I wake up and want to keep my car and other days I'm ready for a change. I think the big reason I love my car so much is because of all the mods and hard work I've put into it. When I think of it that way, I realize that the same could be done to a brand new car too. But the decision I'm trying to make is far from frustrating. Considering the financial hard times people are going through, I'm lucky (even feeling guilty) to be faced with such a decision.
Thanks for your help guys,

It's all about personalizing it and having a unique car. I came to terms long ago with the fact that I won't get my $ back. I've put more into the car than what I bought it for. I have a 'holy ****' moment when I look at the list (yes I made one, it's long). If you're looking for a one-off, keep it and build the cojones out of it; it's what I did
.
2008 triple black conv gt dyno'd at 565 to the wheels, and loving it!
Good luck

they would give me 16k on my trade and I could finance the balance only $21,000.
had I had the money for the $350 or so month payment I would have done it. I didn't and now I'm kicking myself for not doing so! the 2009 was black convert with roll bar and 4,000 miles!
she was perfect in everyway!
anyway what I'm saying is just buy a 2007-2009 GT 500 an have a blast!
When the 5.0L came out in the '11 Mustang making big numbers with simple mods, I made the switch and bought my '11 5.0L in Feb '11. Absolutely no regrets as the 5.0L is just about as quick as a supercharged 4.6L 3V. Add a few basic mods to a 5.0L, and you can get more power than some (but certainly not all) of the supercharged 4.6L 3V's out there. In fact, my tuned '11 5.0L made 16 more rwhp than my supercharged '07 GT on the same dyno (at different times, of course). And, my '11 has trapped 3 more mph in the 1/4 mile than my supercharged '07 ever did.
Looks and creature comforts are subjective, so pick the car you like more and build on it.
