Short throw shifter

Looking for a hood short throw shifter. Heard that Saleen had one that just changes throw of stock shifter without removing the whole shifter. Looked at Saleen's website and can only find a replacement shifter. Can anyone rec a good short throw kit that is also easy to install?

I love this thing, feels awsome, no vibration, butter smooth with just a bit more effort to get it into place.

Either go with the Saleen Short Shifter adaptor or the Hurst.

The Saleen re-uses the stock shifter, gives it a much shorter throw but still gives it that flimsy stock feel to it.

Hurst, different story, replaces the entire shifter. Looks identical to the stock shifter, much stronger, firm, precise throws, no flimsy feeling and its shorter. I love it!

IMO, Hurst is the best, i threw out my B&M shifter last week because it was horrible.

I have the saleen and love it. This is my first time with a SS of any sort on any car but for the $ I feel you cant beat it. It will take you longer to jack the car up and put jack stands up than it would to change the adapter.

I have the Saleen short shift adaptor for sale for $25 + shipping. It's like new and has no defects.

I'm switching back to my Hurst becuase I'm changing sticks to a swept back design that I like much better.

Many like the Hurst because it performs well, and has that old school look with the chrome stick and the white shift ****. It reminds an old guy like me of the day when all the muscle cars had a Hurst shifter in them!

I have the Saleen adapter. It makes the throw considerably shorter. I've blown the 5-4 downshift with it a few times, messing up opportunities to overtake in a short space. However with use comes confidence, and for $50 it's well worth it. I'll try a Hurst/FRPP next year maybe.

What is the difference between the Hurst Comp Plus and the FRPP Shifters?

Careful it doesnt snap your tranny linkage, like it did mine, and B&M wont cover you.

Go with the Hurst shifter. You wont be disapointed!!!!!!
After installing the shifter I wonder why Ford did not put this as a standard item it is like day and night. It would have not cost Ford any extra money and it could of been a extra benifit for sales for Ford.
