Shaker System...

Ok, in my boredom at work today (mis-use of company resources...ha) I ran across an interesting product at mustangtuning.com. Apparently it's a Shaker kit for the '05 GT. This struck me as interesting and maybe something that would be fun to have. Problem is, there are no performance numbers that go along with it. So, has anyone seen this installed, heard anything about it, or even know if this would be a good idea? The curiousity is killing me.

I think they look so good any performance gain is just icing on the cake. I would get one except I'm going to get a twin screw blower so it won't work with that.

There is one other Shaker Scoop, manufactured by Fang Performance, that actually routes the air through the hood instead of through tubing. For my mods its the only choice other than the CDC unit.

Fang might get a little more business if they fixed that website. Had to wander around just to find the shaker pics, and I didn't see any info regarding how it differed from the competition.
I thought it routed the air down the sides and into the intake (opposed to CDC's back to the box or CAI). But that info is not on the site. Or at least not easy to find.

From the pixs I've seen Fang routes air inside the hood from the shaker to the air box. So there is some routing but I have no idea how effective it is.
See the 2 opening in the hood on the sides of the shaker hole. Air goes in there and comes out the hole on the right side of the bottom of the hood. From there it goes to go in the airbox area.

I just added spacers to my CDC shaker scoop today to raise it slightly... more details about what I did are here: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=483328

Don, That looks tons better
In other words, in looks right at home and familiar.
CDC should have made it look like that in the first place.

Thanks... and I agree; there are a few things CDC should have done. I have already sent them a list, hopefully they will incorporate some of them into future designs.
