Have you heard of anyone installing Lincoln LS or T-bird Selectshift set up in an 05? Looks like it will fit. Can it be made to work?

4 - not to sound negative - but it's not really worth it IMHO. I had an '01 LS V8 Sport for the past several years and the Selectshift is pretty lame compared to a real stick. You can get the same feeling by just manually shifing your auto and the the Selectshift will not let you get into 1st from a stop (you have to take off in 2nd) unless you floor the throttle then it will down shift to 1st - until you stop again. I'm an avid mtx nut and found myself never using this feature at all - plus when using it to downshift from 3rd to 2nd you can get some pretty hard "slams" cause it will hesitate a few moments then slam down into gear.

If you do decide to make the conversion, it may be doable cause a few of the non-sport LS owners did it on their LS's with the same tranny.....good luck!!

I was wondering the same thing and had thought that might be one of my mods. However with the new 6 speed that Ford and GM are devolping or have finally finished devolping that might be another way to go since that will likely have a select poo option (am wondering if it doesnt already have that option since the new landrover which Ford owns will have a 6 speed select shift transmission in it). Also now considering the CVT if it proves capable and will fit since it will allow programming to keep the car in the heart of the torque and power band at all times.
