I've been meaning to ask Scott at Diablo about this , but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But my assumption about it is that it's basically what David said , that a loaded or brake type dyno gives more real life numbers. Since it's simulating actually pulling itself down the road and not just spinning the drum , it has to work harder to get the drum spinning. We did a pull with the SCT tune still in the car and we got exactly the same HP , but considerably lower TQ. Since HP is how fast you can go and TQ is how fast you can get there , I assuming that the loaded dyno affects the TQ more than the HP. Once I've talked to Scott , I'll let know ...
