Well of course opinions are welcome....but I am looking more for facts.
1. Which is easier to use?
2. Which will give me the most power and torque?
3. Which has a better reputation?
4. Which one will return tune to stock?
5. Which can I tune myself? (NO EXPERIANCE AT ALL)
6. What are some personal experiances? (GOOD AND BAD)
7. Anyone with both?
Feel free to throw any other questions or answers. I am ready to buy one and I want to make the right choice. Thanks a lot.
Sorry if a re-post.

SCT X-cal II is just coming out. I might be leanding that way. It is supposed to be better than the Diable, since it will accept any 0-5V input. The Diablo is definitly much better than the original SCT, much more adjustable, and tunable. Then agian, I've had neither, just what I've read, but I think I'll get the SCT II, since it's the latest and greatest, or is it?
The Diablo will definitely retune to stock, which I'll need if ever going in for service.

We could talk about this for days but it would be hypothetical unless one has owned both. Maybe someone that has both will advise us. I have a Predator and hope I made the right choice.I went with the one that had a dealer / tuner in my area.

Easy...The Predator end of story. Diablosport worked directly with C and L to develop the tune.

With that setup (C&L Intake + Diablo) is there an option available for 87 octane, or is it strictly required that you use 91 and up? Also, will this be safe on an Auto car or does it need some modifications? Thanks to anyone that can help...really having a hard time deciding on the right combo for my car! :bang:

You will be please with the C&L intake and predator - its really easy. the instructions are great and the predator comes at v21 so you dont have to update it before backing up your factory tune and then uploading the C&L tune.
As far a performance. I am happy so far. Bad weather has kept me grounded though.. so I havent really got on it hard.

I have the C&L and the SCT XCal. Everything was really easy to install and the results are simply incredible. I am speechless at the performance increase, mainly from the tune. I have an automatic, and I got the XCal and the tune from Alternative Auto. It is insane. The car shifts awesome, I can chirp the tires shifting from 1-2 and from 2-3. A lot of people didnt think this was possible with the auto, but it is.
I had first loaded the 93 octane tune without the C&L intake installed, and the car just sounded, shifted, drove much better. That gay throttle lag is nowhere in site. I ran the tune for about a day just to check it out. Then I installed the C&L intake and did the 93 octane w/ C&L tune that Alt. Auto supplied. Even better. The engine breathes considerably more, and revving the engine sounds much cooler. I even get some exhaust popping if you really get on it. Having a shaker put on June 2. Cant wait. Bottom line is this: if you have an automatic, Alternative Auto has the tune for you. They do have a manual tune as well. I'm in no way associated with those guys, this is not a plug. Its just a fact.

I have both units , but I have the Steeda setup and not the C&L. The only reason I bought the SCT was because that was the one that Steeda worked with and would support their CAI & CM plates and had the correct tune. However I didn't like the fact that you only had flashing lights to tell you what was going on and when the programming had stopped. Once Diablo came out with tunes for the Steeda setup I got one of them. However at first they didn't have a car to work with and the tune had a lot of problems. Since I live near them they had me come in and they used my car to work out the tune. Now I feel it is the superior tune , as the dyno figures below show , and I also feel that the Predator is the superior unit. I know that the new XCalibrator will look more like the Predator and do the data logging and read/erase codes , but you're still going to have to hook it up to a computer to change the anything in the tune ...

What I've learned from some different tuners is that you really can't get any better performance out of one or the other. It's all in the tuners capabilities. There is only so much you can squeeze out of the computer. Some tuners are more comfortable working with one program over the other. I have the SCT and have talked in depth with a Diablo tuner. He simply told me this..."I can't sit here and tell you that I can make your car perform better with one program or the other." I've also learned it has a lot to do with torque management. I currently feel that there is some more I can get out of my car with safer numbers. I am at 13.1 A/F on a dynojet, which is roughly 13% inflated numbers over a dyno that has a brake. The brake creates a load on the car, as opposed to a 10,000lbs wheel that will have it's own inertia once it gets going. The brake type dyno will give you realistic numbers because the car has to push itself on the road (creating load). I'm still learning. This is just some info I've been gathering. I'm waiting on the XCAL II. The datalogging will tell you everything you want to know as you run down the street, strip or track.
