I've had my xcal 2 for awhile, and I'm please with the performance results. However, everyone promised end user adjustability using the xcal2 unit itself. I have not been able to adjust anything. I select the modify option when I flash the ECU, and I see all the things I am supposed to be able to adjust, however, when I select them, they do nothing. I contacted my dealer, and he said that the firmware doesn't support adjustments via the tuner itself, and that I'd need a laptop to change anything. If that's the case, why do they still advertise adjustability via the xcal2?

Just wait until v3.0 comes out. You'll be able to download it to your unit and adjust whatever you want.

If you bought your unit from Doug at 'Bama I believe he has a thread about 'enabling' the unit for this purpose. Obviously you would have to send the unit to him. I would think your supplier would do the same??!!

I got mine from brenspeed, and its fully user end adjustable. I already changed the redline, and lowered the neutral rev limiter. Also removed the top end limiter

That's exactly who I got it from. I'll do a search. Thanks.

I got my tune from BrenSpeed but I dont have any idea what the user adjustable parameters are? Is there a document somewhere that gives some insight into what the different settings do? Or also how do I check what my tune is already set up for?

Here are some basics...not sure what all the XCal2 has on it or what the Mustang uses.

Coolant temp trim - Allows for richer AFR at low temperatures or stable AFR during warm-up.

Dwell - Sets the battery voltage dependent ignition dwell period.

Injector response - Stabilizes the AFR when injector opening time changes due to battery voltage fluctuation.

Cranking enrichment - Allows for richer AFR when cranking at low temperatures.

Air temp trim - Stabilizes the AFR at different air temperatures.

Start primer - Allows for a short primer pulse of fuel to wet intake ports for low temperature starting.

Zero tps vacuum - Substitutes a stable programmed vacuum at closed throttle to avoid 'lumpy' cam idle problems.

ISC open gain - Sets the probable drop in vacuum due to an opening of the ISC valve (where zero tps vacuum is used).

Injection phasing - Controls the end of injection with respect to inlet valve opening

Fuel cut limit - Sets the coolant temperature dependent rpm threshold under which fuel cut is cancelled.

Throttle pump - Allows for richer AFR on rapid throttle opening movements.

Post start enrichment - Stabilizes AFR immediately after start.

Dwell trim - Allows for dwell increase Variable by RPM

Knock threshold - Sets the threshold over which knock is considered damaging and timing should be retarded.

Knock fuel add - Allows for richer AFR when knocking is detected.

Closed loop limit - Sets the rpm dependent vacuum limit under which closed loop is cancelled.

Air temp spark trim - Allows for timing retard at excessive inlet air temperatures.

Coolant temp spark trim - Allows for timing advance at low coolant temperatures.

Idle speed target - Sets the coolant temperature dependent idle speed target for the idle speed control output.

That is the one thing I did not ask Lidio about. Does he unlock it so we can make mods without a laptop?

Pile on, I got my SCT XCal 2 w/ tune and my C/L Combo from Lidio, can I just send my SCT unit back and he can unlock these features?

I just received mine and am able to adjust:
A/F Ratio, Spark, Axle Ratio, Tire Size, WOT Shift Schedule, Idle RPM, and Cooling Fan.

MAF Selection, Fuel Injector, Traction Control, and Two Step were not available for adjustment.

The adjustments are made after selecting and initiating a programing sequence, but before the computer is flashed.

Not with the Xcal. At least, not with mine... Yet....
Perhaps with Xtreme Tune?

There is a button for removing it with Xtreme Tune, but when I click it, I get an error message.

I'll be selling my Xcal2 from Lidio, if anybody is interested.

$350 shipped, send PM if interested.

Like I said earlier on another post, the wife doesn't like the "3G's" acceleration.

I didn't say I wanted to get rid of the top speed limiter... I was just reporting what Xtreme Tune can and can't do. I didn't want a lecture from you. Thanks anyway.
