SCT X3

Was hoping someone could give me some insight. I have an X3 and three tunes from Brenspeed. I installed the 93 octance one and it seemed as though the idle may have been a little strange. I then attempted to reload it. However, I went into adjustment options and selected the 3:55 gears (mainly because thats what my car has , anyways, since the car seems to idle at about 700 and every 3-5 seconds drop to 500 or so and back up. Is this normal? I am curious because I hope that by adjusting something as simple as gear ratio, I didn't screw up the tune completely or lose the data they had put on it.

Be careful. Depending what firmware u have, making adjustments has been known to throw other parameters off. Part of SCT's twitchy software.

You mean things like rev limiter, tire revolutions/mile and gear ratios?

Dont remember to be honest. I dinked around changing spark, etc on a tune i didnt care about just to see how it worked. Parameters that shouldnt of been affected were. Quite sure the latest greatest firmware has taken care of those old issues. Just depends on if the person keeps up w the updates.
