SCT Tuner and dealer-updated PCM?

Anyone ever have a dealer update their PCM while they had a custom SCT tune loaded? If so, how did you resolve the issue?

Yes it happened to me. What happens next depends on what tuner you have. You running an older XCAL or one of the newer SF3? Tuners?

Yep that's what I had. You are stuck in a situation where your tuner is basically locked. You have two choices:

1) Send the tuner back to SCT to have it unlocked (costs $).
2) Buy an SF3 and sell the XCAL on eBay.

Either way your out $150 or so, unless you can get the dealer to pay for it.

I has some success with the latter after explaining the situation with the service manager.

Sorry wish I had better news for you.

Oh I should note the SF3 is smart enough to overcome this issue, which is one of the reasons I went that route. Don't have to worry about it happening again. Good luck Metroplex!
