I was looking at them about three months ago. I ended up purchasing a GMS CAI and then sold it for a JLT w/SCT X2 by BamaChips. Do yourself a favor and just get a CAI w/ a tune. Trust me, you'll wish you had...

Thumbs up

i have the s&b cai and for the first few months i had it w/o a tune and it the car did seem to gain some horsepower although i never dynoed it. I eventually got a tuner and it transformed the car into a beast. I really do think it is a great cai though.

My car dynoed 272hp/290tq with just S&B intake and the A:F ratio on it was 10:1, so my tuner said that it was VERY safe since it was so rich, but I did pick up 20 hp from dyno tune and a whole lot better throttle response.

Does it get bad gas mileage without the tune?

I've had one since February without any tune and have not had any "Check Engine Light" or any other issues with the S&B Intake Kit.

The Whipple supercharger kit out there for the Mustang uses a 9" S&B air filter, so you know it's good stuff . http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/...sp?ProdID=1208

I have not had an opportunity to get the car dynoed, but the MPG went up after I put the kit on.

Just because their is no check engine light dosen't necessarily mean that it is functioning properly. It may be running lean without you knowing...

It functioned well enough for me to dust a new Dodge R/T Charger at a little stop light race

If you're still considering the S&B intake kit I just posted mine for sale in the classifieds:

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...488#post796488

I can't use it any more due to my recent Saleen supercharger installation. The S&B worked very well for me, both without a tune and also later on fortified with a Brenspeed tune.

don't waste your money or the cars potential, just get a kit from Brenspeed or Bamachips.
