S&B air intake !! VERY NICE LOOKING !!

I came across this cool air intake for the mustang. Anyone have this??I found it on www.verociousmotorsports.com when I was shopping for vibrant resonators

SOOOOOO I ordered my vibrant resonators today. Im adding them to my exhaust which includes O/R x-pipe by PYPES and the Flowmasters. I haven't seen any vids with the vibrant resonators ,O/R x-pipe and flows. I will put up a vid as soon as they go on

I have never liked that kit. Not as open and doesn't seem as productive as the other kits.

I've had the S&B intake for over a year without a tune. No issues or check engine light pro7blems. Runs great. It's a high quality kit and I think a better buy than the K&N kit. Plus I prefer to have a plastic intake tube rather a heat conductor like metal tubes.

Go with C&L and save alot of aggrevation. I dont trust ANY no tune other than C&L, and the 95mm racer IMHO is the most performing intake on the market.

I'll bet you A/F is still way off.
I wonder what that will do to your engine?
Just 'cause it don't throw a code, doesn't means it's right.

True, by the time it throws a code it's WAY off. I have a wideband A/F ratio gauge intalled and I am currently having some issues with various tunes I am trying out and I can tell you that the numbers have to get really ugly before the computer will start throwing codes.
The CEL in these cars actually means something. If it comes on it means that things are really off and you should drive it straight home if it's close and park it until the issues are resolved.

I just don't see the point of a no tune intake.

(All the look of a performance intake without that wasteful horsepower gain)

I beg to differ on the "just for looks" comment...there are a few here that have this intake without the tune:

Though, I do agree that you will not get the true potential of any intake without a tune. So I will be getting an SCT device....after I finish paying for my fiancee's ring

I agree, it's a good looking CAI. There is some history with this CAI. Ford Racing was going to go with this set-up and a "canned" tune, but the deal fell through. I concur that you should still definitely have a tune with any CAI. Most "claimed" no-tune CAIs dyno'ed always reveal that the engines are running lean regardless of whether they through codes.

How did you get the Strut Tower Brace to fit over the intake cover, does it rub at all, thanks!

I was joking. Hell on my OLD GT a 2003 vert. I thought I was king of the hill by dropping a K&N in the filter box.

But seriously, I just sold a Hypertech Tuner that had SEVERAL CANNED TUNES for C&L, Steeda, etc... for $107. So check e-bay and you can save ALOT.

I bought these lug nut washers at Advance Auto - they are thicker than regular washers and put them under neath the strut tower bolts. I also attached the engine cover low using this trick:http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...t=engine+cover

Yeah my intake had a crappy A/F ratio before the tune. (Not as crappy as 10:1) Most people think a "no tune" intake will run lean, but the smaller diameter ones can actually make it run very rich instead.
No tuner will tell you tht 10:1 is good, but it won't hurt your combustion chamber (if you don't mind carbon build-up).
