Well basically what the title states. Thinking of not paying the rip off labor fees to have these bad boys installed. Only problem is that I'll be making a 2 hour trip. I already have a intake a 93 octane Xcal2 tune, so will I be ok?
Thanks guys,
Brandon

You can leave the motor attached and pluged-in, just remove the arms. You will not notice the full benefits of the delete plates, but the car should run fine. I would not run that way for long.
The 1st delete plate install write-ups, which did not go over tuning, just told people to leave the motor atached and pluged-in.
Like scramblr said, you could also just show up early and do it yourself in about an hour.

It would be best to remember that shops charge a flat fee, doesnt matter if the guy takes 30 minutes to do the job, if "the book" says its going to take 2 hours thats how much your going to get charged.
Steeda's site states it's a three hour job and a qualified technician should do the job.
If it takes three hours for a qualified technician to do this mod, I would not want them near my car.

Worked for me. Are you sure you left the motor plugged in? This is just to get it tuned, not for joy riding around town or trips to the track.
I did leave the actuator plugged in. It took about an hour for the code to appear but it did happen. I don't remember exactly what the code read but it was something to do with the CMCV.
I also had long tube headers with a catted x-pipe and an aftermarket intake as well. It's possible that there was something about that combination that the computer didn't like. Maybe that's the difference and why I got a code and you didn't.

I had problems with my tune and had to drive about an hour and half total to get things squared away. The how-to I had for reference stated to leave the the motor plugged in and the computer would be happy. I re-mounted the motor and plugged it back in, and threw no codes during my short drives. Obviously this is not ideal, and any change to this motor should be accompanied by a tune.
I guess the moral of the story is, your mileage my vary.
