I got the slotted Roush TrakPak rear discs from Stage 3 Motorsports.

They look great and match the front Saleen/StopTech BBK with the slotted rotors. Matched them w/ EBC Redstuff pads front and rear, and took them to my first HPDE on a 2.5mile road course last weekend. Worked great! Figure they should hold up fine on the track, right?

Pretty much straightforward, just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

Pay attention on how the e-brake connection attaches, that can sometimes be a PITA.

What's wrong with the stock rotors?
Better pads would solve the overheating issue, along with removing the dust shields and routing ducts.

brake ducts and HPS pads with rotopros all around held up great at Sebring during 140 miles of camp Steeda.... only casualty was my rear pads i left the factory ones on and they lasted about 80 miles till they were only backing plates!!! needless to say...i now have the stock rear rotors back on the car!!! and a nice set of HPS that were sitting on a shelf in my garage.

It sounds like everyone for the most part is happy with the RotoPros.

I talked to Richard today and he told me I can pick up a set of 4 rotors for $200 shipped! He told me to pass the word here on the forum.

How have you guys ordered from him in the past? He told me I can order over the phone from him as this keeps his cost down as oppose to ordering them online from him.

I am using DBA 4000 series slotted rotors in stock size on the front, for both street and track....they are working great!

Using the Roush slotted, stock size rotors on the rear....great also!

http://www.dba.com.au/

Also using the Agent 47 lower grille and brake cooling duct kit....though I did have to modify the ducting kit just a bit, as it was not made to work around the supercharger intercooler. A little mod here and there and I made it work just fine.

It sounds like most guys are running the slotted/cross drilled rotors mainly for the looks as there is minimal performance gain if any unless the brake lines and/or pads are changed.

Will probably go the same route as I do a little more research here.

Does anyone know what the advantage/disadvantage is with slotted/cross drilled vs slotted only vs slotted/dimpled vs cross drilled only?

Drilled look cool, but reduce disc mass (not good for heat tolerance), can promote cracking on the track, and are generally more costly. Dimples basically just give the appearance of drilling without drilling, but perhaps act like slotting in cleaning the brake pad surface and allowing a bit of outgassing from the disc/pad material and the pad itself. Slots/dimples are considered fine on road courses, not so with drilling, generally (don't know how Porsche gets away with it).

Incidentally, many lightweight miatas or other tiny cars will drill ridiculous numbers of holes in the brakes specifically to lighten it, but only for autocross courses where the initial bite is important, but not the ability to absorb and then radiate heat.

So for someone like myself who only drives his car on nice days in the summer only for street use and occasionally gives it a boot.....would the cross drilled and slotted be OK?

Do you have phone # for RotoPros? I would like to call. I've run "dimpled & slotted" before on my Lightning from RotoPros with no problem. Not as cool as drilled, but also no cracking issues.
