wow S&B does not use that part number anymore, the new number is R0863 for black cap and R0862 for chrome. plus you can also get a blue filter or buy the blue oil kit

I spoke to Amsoil regarding the air transfer on their filter in comparison to the S&B that comes standard on my JLT intake. They said it flows approximately the same, and there should be no need to retune the car based on the filter alone. They said it flows at least as good, and possibly a small amount better than the S&B.

Hundreds less on the intake = due to quality. Not really hundreds, maybe $20-30.

Just ordered a new blue one, I think it'll look good on my car. Although I might just use it for shows, and wash and re-use the original for normal driving. Who knows.

Curious, where did you order your blue one from?

Apparently I didn't order it, since I can't find any recepit, no charges on any of the cards, and nothing ever showed up. Hmm, curious. Coulda sworn I ordered one. I can't even remember where I "ordered" it from. As long as no charges show up on the cards, I guess I'll just have to say it was all a dream, and order a new one.

I don't think this is where I "remember" ordering before, but on the Verocious storefront there is an option for spec'ing out the filter you need. You can put in ID, length, color of filter (red or blue), and cap color.

The blue ones are out of stock right now, apparently.

As I understand it, the FRPP cold air kit is actually a Steeda kit which uses the blue S&B filter with the chrome ring. (confusing?) Same filter for JLT.
I found this out when I had a dis-agreement with the Ford service advisor, when he warned that my filter could void my warranty (here we go again).
Same filter as FRPP.

LOL

I posted above I couldn't find anything about ordering the filter, and it showed up at the office this afternoon.

Focuztech Performance is where I ordered it from. The part number is R1177 for the 4x9 blue with chrome end cap filter.

For some reason I'm not finding the product on their site now, but they have my invoice saved under my login, and I got the filter. Here's a pic of the new blue one installed.

Technically I don't have a JLT, I have a Tunable Induction intake, but I believe they're basically the same thing, and the filter fits just fine. Here's a pic of the new Blue filter installed.

Mine was really dirty, I could've washed it and re-oiled, but I wanted the blue look.
