Replace COP's at x miles?

120K miles and I'm in the middle of replacing my spark plugs (yeah, wish me luck...). Car runs real well, though I'm wondering if I should replace the COP's now? Not sure how many miles they are good for? Nothing wrong with them now, but I'm not above replacing them if they have lived their expected life. I will just buy the OEM's as they are good to 600HP I hear and the aftermarket COP's are hit and miss from what I've read.

Holy crap, I just yanked out all 8 plugs with no problems. Used carb cleaner 2x and let it sit for about 30 mins each time, engine very nearly completely cool. Was very careful, they squeaked a bit, but never felt like they were going to break. I've been dreading this since 70K miles.

First of all, congratulations. Because from what I've read on here, changing the plugs is a nightmare. As far as the coils go, if it was my car, unless I had a bunch fail at once, I'd only replace them as they let go since they're not really a PITA to change and they're kinda expensive.

where did you get your plugs from? I wouldn't replace the cop's either.

American Muscle, $70 for a set of 8. I somehow lost 1 of them and bought a single one yesterday from the dealer for $22.

I had the champions, and they were taken out less than 15k miles after they were put in. Most of them were shot... one of them was missing a tip... Put in Motorcraft ones (SP-514) and my car's been super smooth since. I would never buy Champion again... Stay away from them as they are junk!

I too offer my congratuations. I am facing a similar issue, as Awesome is gettin' close to the 100K mark, and I will be doing this myself.

Carb cleaner you say?
