Remote Start

Hey guys,

so who's found the best remote start system (Ford or otherwise) that they are happiest with for the best price.

I'm tired of my car boiling my face when I get in. yes, I bought a black on black mustang GT and live in Texas...

Thanks,

Ben

I have the Ford one installed by the dealer, works great, two button start, one botton shut off. I have started it over 200' away with no problems.

Anybody have an after-market version that they would like to make a case for?

Otherwise I guess I'll just snag one from ford.

Ok I think I found what I need. Didn't want to buy it from the dealership 'cause they'll take me to the cleaners.

http://www.partscheap.com/Mustang_Re...9g364-aa-m.htm

However they say I need this PATS interface kit?

The only thing that scares me is that it says its for 07-09? Will it not work on an '05? Do I need to use some other OEM part?

Thanks

I have http://www.partscheap.com/2010_Ford_...364-aa-m10.htm on my 2010. Works great. Hold for 2 seconds, locks the car, and then starts. Turns off after 5 min. It's a separate key fob. But it's solid. I can see the appeal of the all in one key tho... Ask your dealer?

Mine was a build option for $350... What happens is you'll end up having a lil antenna that hooks up right behind the rear view mirror (oughta site), the wire goes into the ceiling panel and makes it's way down... and then they hook up all the wiring components and such, I'm sure labor/install would be at least $75-ish...

You're dealer *should* keep a few remote start options on hand... your best bet would be to just call up the service department and ask...

I guess I'll call the dealer and make sure they're price for the part is as ridiculous as I'm expecting it to be. Maybe they'll surprise me.
