rear sway bar question

Will a thicker rear sway bar help with the front end lifting on hard acceleration?

Can I ask why you would want that? ...no, it wouldn't.

The extra weight in the rear may help the front lift more.

I want something to stop the car from pointing at the moon when I lay the smack down. So what will stop this? I kinda want a rear sway for cornering.

A wheelie bar, but seriously the front raising up helps in planting those rear tires.

x2 on what gt500 said. Sway bars will help you turn flatter with less body roll. Better struts and shocks will help a tad with your lifting. You can give Sam Strano a call he will help you get where you want to be.

Like Glenn said, replace your front and rear shocks/struts. Get some better springs while you're at it.

I threw Eibach Pro-Kit springs on and Koni STR.Ts and they made a huge difference in fore/aft body roll. Not sure I'd go with Pro-kits next time, but they were given to me, so I'm not complaining.

The combo helped not only while accelerating, but while stopping too. It used to be, before I swapped them, that while cruising I could make the car bob by slightly pressing the accelerator and then letting off of it. Now the car stays flat and just moves forward or doesn't move forward.

Also helped a tad with lateral roll on corners.

Thanks for the info guys. Do you have a suggestion on a spring kit that is really close to the stock ride hight? I like the way my car looks so i don't want to lower it just want it a little sharper if you know what i mean. Do you think it would be worth while to get some Bulliitt springs or GT500's.

What are you looking to spend? I ran the Steeda kit on my 08 and loved it. It was pretty well priced and it really made a difference. It lowered the car about an inch and gave it a nice aggresive stance.

Not sure what springs would not give you a drop like you want. A 1 inch drop does make the car look sweet.

Well, to be honest, the rear shocks do more to control the front than the springs do. If you don't want lowering springs, you could try upgrading the the shocks/struts and keeping the stock springs. Give Sam Strano a call at www.stranoparts.com, he may have some options to consider or advice on running stock springs with good aftermarket shocks/struts.

I was given the springs, but probably would have bought them or the Steeda Sports anyway.
