Rear noises! :( HELP! again...

hi all again and thanks in advance.

i found the problem with the front noises. the endlinks were tightened and the bolt for the strut mounts were tighted.

now in the rear, when i go over bumps, it sounds like something is loose and clanking around.

anyone experienced something similar?

again, all i did was get eibach pro springs, tokico d-spec and 20" torque thrust wheels...

thanks very much guys!

Check the clearacne between the panhard bar support and the over axle pipes. When you lowered the car did you repalce the panhard bar with and adjustable one?

As long as you adjusted it to center the axle it is fine.

Check the panhard support and the driverside over axle pipe. If there is less than 1/4" clearance I would replace it with the CHE Upper Support it is the ONLY one that was made correctly. Trust me I have tried them all.

Do you have an aftermarket over-axle exhaust? If so, recently installed?

Check the exhaust hangers that are welded to mufflers...where they slide into rubber hangers...there may be a bit sticking through...if its too long...it hits the drivers side bumper rienforcement...happened to me...especially after it gets hot...system expands. You may have to cut a small amount off hanger...one closest to back of car...sounds nuts...but that's what made my noise

hi fman, that is interesting. could it be as a result of lowering the car, the exhaust hangers can be hitting the inside of the body??

i should have a look...

thanks!

Check the rear sway bar bushing mounts that they disconnected to lower the car. Seems all the sway bar bolts on these cars love to come loose without loctite on them.

Is it only clanking over a bump or rattling under acceleration?, and does it clank with the car both in gear on a pothole and/or at low speeds(like a speed bump). I would say its either a sway bar loose in the back(just like the front) or if there is a clearance issue with the over-the axle pipe-which there shouldn't be with the pipe turned the right way(are the mufflers perfectly straight and centered?). Is it a sharp thump/clank or a hollow sounding one(like something hitting the body 'thunking' or the hollow exhaust 'twanging')?

.

Mine does the same thing every once in a while. Sounds like something is bouncing around in the trunk.

I did install new Steeda stock front struts and rear shocks. That helped some.

Believe it or not it is the rubber things between the springs and the body.
Replace those with better quality stuff and the sound will go away.

I havent done mine yet.............but will.
