Rake variance from factory
Rake variance from factory
I've noticed that some V6s look like the rear is not as high as my GT. Also on another thread someone has Steeda Sport springs installed and their front/rear ground to wheel well measurement is 28"f / 28 1/4"r. My stock suspension is 28"f (more like 27 7/8" actually) and 29 1/4"r.
My question is will a lowering spring kit actually lower or does it get you to a certain point. In other words if my front is already just under 28", will I really get a 1.0 or 1.5 (depending on brand) drop or might it just stay close to where it is?
I am tempted to just put some rear springs on but I wouldn't mind getting rid of a little front dive on breaking/shifting.
What do you guys think?

Is there some other factor beside the spring that determines the ride height on a stock vehicle?
What I am looking for is completely level like the Steeda Q's:

I'm not aware of anything. The front strut assembly is pretty simple - yet I've seen almost a 1" range of what "stock" height is. There are before and after pics of my car here: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showpo...8&postcount=24
Nope, as far as I know the springs are basically the determining factor in ride hight, from the picture you posted I see some rake they are not completely level. I think the camera angle is deceiving you!
The GT-H has rake, the Steeda's do not. The line of the body has rake but I'm talking about the rocker area and wheelwell gap.

I wonder if the Sports would provide a slightly lower drop although Steeda's website says they are both the same drop.
The GT-H uses the FRPP handling pack. The rear end does not drop that much.I had this kit on my 06'GT(first pic after drop w/stock 17's).I dropped my 07'GT with Steeda. The drop was 1" up front,1 1/4" in the rear(second pic,18x9' all fours). Then I went to a 18x10 on the rear with 295/55/18 and the taller tire gave me back the rake but not the gaping hole between the tire and fender(third pic).Me happy,I like. The ride is not bad at all.

You are right, there does not seem to be any difference between your stock springs (w/rear cut) and the Ultralights. Do they ride much different than stock?

You didn't happen to measure from the ground to the center of the wheel well before and after did you?
Check out this post of FRPPs which is why I think there must be some variance from the factory which has much less gap on the rear than you did:

I was going to ask if the rear springs settled. That's also why I was asking about measurements from ground to wheelwell.
